Cricket Thread

Looking for a cricket book on a very particular subject. Anyone know a memoir either by a player or a cricket writer describing life on tour Down Under or in India? Or South Africa. Not so much for what happened on the field of play but about life away from it - the local people, the hotels, food, local "entertainments", etc. Preferably from a time when tours lasted a long time and conditions were a bit rougher before teams got accustomed to luxury travel. Alternatively I'd fancy an account of a season of English county cricket in its heyday (FOC era) or of overseas players' experiences in the Lancashire leagues. Ta.

England 15 wides in the first 40 overs, that’s fucking pathetic lads. Bowl at the stumps and you’ll be better than 110 for 4

Can’t make my mind up about Tongue. He seems to bowl a lot of dross but capable of bowling a jaffa at any given moment.

If everyone is fit, I’d say our best bowling attack is Stokes, Dawson/Rehan/Woakes, Atkinson, Archer and Wood.

People moan about Tongue being hit everywhere his bad balls but when players think they can hit someone and tongue at his hight puts it in the right place he cause all sorts of problems! Oh he is a wicket taker

Dawson won’t get picked again for England for me and I’d have Tongue in my side just because when he has played he takes wickets
