Holidays

Helsinki is my favourite city in the world. I love it so much we lived there for 7 years until Brexit decided we couldn’t stay.

But 6 nights is a long time as a tourist, it’s not a big place…head to Tallinn for a day or two at least in that time.
We are doing a trip to Tallinn

Any suggestions on places to visit / things to do in Trieste? Heading out to Italy next week via Bologna & Pudua then on to Trieste! I know Bologna & Padua well but never visited Trieste!

Bologna! wow, chefs kiss.

Trieste is quite nice, a port town. I've been there twice now, both as an end to traveling holidays, using it as a getaway. Maybe that clouds my judgement, but i have never felt the need to spend more than a day/night there. Simple stuff like wandering the shore & prom, nice churches and piazzas, the Miremare castle & museum, plenty of good places to eat/drink.

We were looking at a bit further afield. Maybe Caribbean / Mexico. We wouldn't be able to afford it, if it wasn't for monetary gifts from family and friends on the wedding day and want something "wow" that we will only ever be able to do this once.
How about somewhere in Asia,Thailand,Vietnam ?

Has anyone been to Calis Beach Fethiye Turkey ?
Wondered what its like will be the 1st time in Turkey ,
Just looking for a relaxing week in the hot sun

Looking for recommendations for our honeymoon. Got married on Saturday just gone. We are looking at the honeymoon to be end of Feb 2026/start of Mar 2026. Approx £1500pp

Another vote for Cape Town, been numerous times lots to do, really good value for money. Ubers to get around are plentiful and cheap. I’ve got a significant birthday in December and we’re probably going to go for 10-14 days.

Yes I’m lucky the company I work for are based in Bologna, so visit 3 or 4 times a year! Food & wine are amazing! Doing some city hopping via trains, as they are so cheap!

Just back from Hisonaru, 10mins away from Fethiye. Stayed in area few times since 90's.
Fethiye is very much 'bustling' compared to years ago, wouldn't choose to stay in the town now.
Hisonaru is inland and very 'tacky' imo. I stayed there for Aqua Park 2mins down Rd (food/drink extortionate, but park good).
Olu Deniz beach close by is awesome but can get busy, but due to expansion in area, traffic can be a right pain unless you go early morning.
Calis beach is OK, but that's all it really is, around the bay from Fethiye, which is a marina, unless you stay at the nice hotel around other side of the bay.
Elsewhere for beach, look at Icmeler....around bay from Marmaris, nice quiet place with decent beach, all noise is in Marmaris. Was a good, but quite a while back I stayed there though.

Great city and surrounding area...Hout bay,Boulder beach,Hermanus for whales,Stellenboch wine region, trip to Robben island.....and no jet lag.

Been about 10 times great place the locals are incredibly friendly some top people there. Dawn Beach bar shows all the City games. Not too far from Oludeniz either which is a stunning 10/10 beach. Make sure to do a boat trip they are brilliant.

Avoid the B52 bar some dodgy fuckers in there. Scarlets at the other end of the strip is much better.
