It's Quiet the £250m return

Won't matter. Sign him, loan him out, never see him. Don't sign him, never see him. We need a separate transfer thread for purchases like this.
I find this a strange perspective.
It is clear that we are in the process of change.
We have a new DOF, and clearly are planning for life after Pep.
The average age of the squad is clearly getting younger.
It would be folly to assume anything about young players we are interested in, and I cannot think of a single young player that we have let go who has gone on to prove that they would have made it at the level we compete at, Palmer apart.

You could be right. I just wonder if the average age of the starting 11 will ever come down in line with the squad. Quick edit: we've just signed Trafford back so that's two ;)

Well it is likely that our forward line, this year, will be Haaland, Foden, Bobb, Savinho, Doku, Marmoush and Cherki. I guess the average age is about 24.
If our back line is Lewis, Dias, Gvardiol and O'Reilly...

Ait Nouri is 24 and has to be our lb/lwb. Nunes will be our rb it seems or akanji and that's going to increase the age. Anyway, I take your point, however, until I start seeing younger talent play I'm going to stick with my original opinion.

The average age of the starting 11 shouldn't change much from season to season though. As older players leave they'll be replaced by younger players but every body else will be a year older :-)

Fair, but surely you expect the players I mentioned to largely be the ones who play.

I would expect your attack to include Bernardo on the right sometimes, and as I mentioned the defence seemed optimistically young! It'll be interesting to see how it develops throughout the season. I think most of us would like to skew younger this year - especially in the middle.

I think most of us like the idea of a young, dynamic side. We have the seeds for that. Let's hope we see it flower. Best wishes.

Manchester City are in advanced talks over a move for 19-year-old Argentine Vélez Sarsfield forward Maher Carrizo, according to César Luis Merlo. A deal worth under €16 million (£13.8 million, $18.3 million) could be struck soon. The youth international's contract with Vélez Sarsfield runs until December 2026, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €6.00 million; River Plate have also been linked with the forward.
Send him to Girona right away with Echeverri and Reis.

Yes I agree it's a no brainer it's not a fortune loan him see how good he is if he turns out great he plays for us if not sell him for a profit we haven't made a loss on any players like this before win win in my eyes.

I'm sure that's the lad we are signing then loaning him to river plate for the season

where are the clubs ready to offer huge fee for Kalvin Phillips?:)

with even Sunderland being able to get Granit Xhaka from Leverkusen that tells me even promoted sides target higher level...

fucking Leeds should take him back under warranty.

We should try and get him to NYC.

Reports Liverpool have agreed terms with Rodrygo now
They may well sign both. Get rodrygo done now and then Isak later in the window when the frustration builds.

And yes I know they have already signed ekitike, but they have lost Diaz, Jota tragically, and are obviously looking to shift Nunez on, so it would be 3 for 3. Wirtz being the only 'addition'. To finally replace Jordan Henderson :|
