Season Tickets - 2025/26 | Changes to ticket transfer this season (p101)

I originally (and naively) thought these changes were positive but it's clear they aren't.

It's now become clear that you can only pre-select up to three non-paid members in advance and you can't transfer your ticket to another season card holder. If I've not been able to attend then I've usually given first refusal to Ducado, who sat next to me, and vice versa, and one of us would take a family member or mate. Can't do that now. Even if someone has a supporter number, you can't transfer a ticket to them if they're not one of the 3 people on your list.

When City Matters first started back in 2018, the issue of empty seats came up from the start. We worked with the club to suggest ways of getting ticket holders to transfer or exchange their tickets and I think these have worked. Yet the club has introduced measures that will increase empty seats again.

As usual they've not thought things through properly and used a sledgehammer to crack a nut. And, as usual, they'll probably end up rowing back on this at some point because they'll realise they've fucked up.
And what do you think their motive is? Is it really just about getting everyone to pay £25/£35?

Excuse my ignorance, but am I right in saying that if I can’t go to a game, and in the past for example I’d let my son take his girlfriend and I’d just transfer my seat to him in the ticket account, I can no longer do this?
Did you transfer it to him and he took her in using the ticket on his phone? You certainly can’t do that now if you’re both season card holders.

Possibly that's part of it. Could be they want to know everyone who's in the ground or maybe an attempt to clamp down on touting.

But if you restricted ticket transfers only to people who had supporter numbers, you'd still have traceability. And touts probably have paid memberships anyway.

Correct, unless his girlfriend has a supporter number and is one of the 3 people in your non-member group.

It's the way this has been communicated (or hasn't been properly communicated more precisely) that's the problem. It doesn't surprise me one little bit as the club's comms are absolutely piss poor, but this looks sneaky rather than amateurish.
Ok, so I create a fake account with a supporter number and a spare email address of mine.

Then I can transfer the ticket to that, and then that email address will get the email to download the ticket, then I can forward the email on to whoever I want and they can add to Apple wallet or whatever?

When you transferred a ticket he would get the email from City with the add to Apple wallet and he’d just add mine to his phone as well as his and go in. That’s what I don’t get, he’s a season ticket holder and obviously we are strongly linked family and friends, I can’t do that any more?

That might well work. Or just set up an account for her. I did this for my daughter-in-law a few seasons ago when her and my son wanted tickets when they were over from the USA.

Yeah, but I’m talking about being able to then forward that email on to anyone who might be taking my seat, Duncan or whoever.

This new system is a joke, I cannot make Spurs so transferring ticket to a mate (ST holder) to take his grandson. But now cannot do that.

His grandson has supporters number but as on his family/friends I cannot add to my family/friends!!

He deleted his grandson and I added him but wont let me transfer as need to add as "strong link" with * but wont let me do that as says linked to another account...

FFS.....have contacted CITY to sort but no joy.

You can add him to both accounts, they dont need to be strongly linked, you will just need add him as one of your three if he doesn't have a paid membership and then you will be able tontramsfer when it opens on the 15th(?) August.

So let me.get this right as I have only just done it.

1. I am no longer able to just transfer my season ticket to my son who is a season ticket holder so he can load it onto his phone to take a friend or his mum etc? Can my lad just download my season ticket onto his phone as well to overcome this?
2. My foster son is a paid citizen member with a a supporter number. I will be able to transfer the ticket to him as he is paid ?

On point 1 sounds like you are exactly same as me. I’ve seen people reference a second phone, so maybe getting a spare phone and downloading both to that so either you or son can take that phone too to a game? Or give it someone else of course?

Yes and yes.

Yep, I was thinking that too. It really is a fucking joke, it shows City up to being absolute cunts when it comes to stuff like this, not good.
Why only give us 1 week to do this?
As a previous poster stated how do we know if we will be able to attend a game in Feb etc.

Reads to me as this Rammy:-

1. I can transfer a home game from my season ticket to a fully paid up cityzen (35 quid per year)

2. I can't transfer a ticket.to another season ticket holder as we were previously allowed to do?

3. I will have to know ny next Monday of the people who have supporter numbers, if they are a paid citizen or not. If non paid I have to nominate on the non member list.

4. Probably easier to create a 2nd ghost non paying registration with a 2nd email and pretend relative. So my wife for example.
I can then forward the email once transferred to download onto whoever wants it from my wifes email accounts.
