Season Tickets - 2025/26 | Changes to ticket transfer this season (p101)

If someone is under 13 they don't have their own email address and use the adults, so you are probably asking to do the wrong thing or it isn't working.
Thought that myself. Just followed the link on that how to transfer August fixtures email. Then asks do they have a city account, when press no it says they must be under 13. Will try again in the morning. Cheers.

I'm told this latest lot of crap is in order to meet PL Rule R.16 which requires clubs to know who is in the stadium for any game. The requirement involves having name and contact details for anyone it sells a ticket to, and not to permit the sale of home or away tickets to anyone it doesn't have registered.

I think the club have been over-zealous in their approach to meeting this requirement though. There is no reason to restrict people transferring tickets to registered individuals with various levels of membership or even a supporter number. It will be interesting to see what approach other clubs take.
If you buy fom viagogo or one of the other ticket sites, what form does your ticket come in?
I'd guess it's sent over email in some form that could be easily forwarded on so they'd have no way of knowing who has got it.

Also, if that's their argument, let's see if we have any away fans in home ends this season because if they think they know who is in each seat there can be no excuse for away fans in city end.

So i have an 1 year old nephew whom lives in London. His mum has asked if i could take him to the spurs game and so my daughter said he could have her season ticket. The likelyhood that he will get another game this season is unlikely, maybe one more at the most. So if i nominate him for one of the three people whats the point as he wont be able to make another game.
You don’t need a ticket for under 5s, they sit on your knee or one of the seats that seem like will be available with all these ticket issues. I know it sounds lovely to take your nephew to a game and great you are contemplating it but I would honestly leave it a few years, it will be a nightmare. This is me talking as someone who has 3 boys that all have season tickets now and I probably first took them when they were 4 or 5, and they had more of an idea as to what was going on.

Happy to be corrected but I believe the under 5 rule no longer applies and everyone has to have own seat regardless of age. Think that was changed last season.

They have have published policies in the past one saying under 5's are free and one saying everyone needs a ticket, 2 conflicting policies for the same season.

How is it going to work when you transfer to someone else going forward? Is it just the usual and you get an email to download? I’ve got a feeling my Mrs has a burning need for a non-paid for City membership… that way can still be flexible for any spares my lot have

That doesn't really wash.

You could have a thousand non members in your F&F and have them all eligible to be transferred a ticket to, whilst still complying with that rule.

My son tried this by buying a cheap phone, then because it wouldn’t accept the new ticket software type he has wasted his money.

He was going to hand the cheap phone to mates if he couldn’t make any of the matches. His work means he doesn’t do mid-week or Sundays, got a warning from the Club last season about missing matches.

He is high up on the points system as he loves European away trips, frankly he is getting well pissed off with the Club.

sadly were are no longer treated as fans but a customer.

It’s not on the email but is in the extended blurb

Who can you transfer to?

Tickets can only be transferred to Cityzens Official Members or to one of your non-Member Transfer group.

You are not able to transfer your ticket to another Season Ticket Member.
I stand corrected, thanks but what a ****’s trick by the club.

Everything you need to know about transferring your Season Ticket

Edited 5 day(s) ago

What is Ticket Transfer?

Ticket Transfer allows Season Ticket Members to transfer their match tickets when they can’t attend a Premier League, Women's Super League or *Cup Match.

*Ticket Transfer can be used for Cup Matches, however this is only available to Season Ticket Member on the Cup Schemes. If you're not on the Cup Schemes you will not be able to transfer your Cup match tickets.

Who can you transfer to?

Tickets can only be transferred to Cityzens Official Members or to one of your non-Member Transfer group.

You are not able to transfer your ticket to another Season Ticket Member.

Transferring to a member of your 3 Friends & Family Group

To transfer tickets to non-Members, you will need to nominate up to three non-Members between 10am, Monday 4th August and 5pm, Monday 11th August. If you do not set this up you will still be able to transfer your ticket to an Cityzens Official Member. The steps to nominate your selected three non-members are as follows:

1. Make sure the nominated fan is listed in your Friends and Family. If you need to add them you can do so here, you’ll need their supporter number or email address, and their last name or postcode.

2. Nominate one, two or three people for “Non-Member Transfers”. This means that these nominated people do not require a membership to receive a transferred ticket. During the online journey you will need to assign this product to a nominated Friends and Family member. You can then transfer your tickets to these named supporters throughout the season, without them requiring a membership.

Transferring to a paid member

Should you wish to transfer your season ticket to anyone else during the season, they will need to be an active Cityzens Official Member. You don’t need to nominate them in the same way as above, but they will need to be named in your Friends and Family.

How do you do it?
Log in to your Manchester City ticketing account.
Go to the ‘Tickets’ section and select the match you can’t attend.
Choose a person from your Family & Friends list.
Follow the steps to transfer the ticket to them.

Additional Information
No extra charge for transferring to someone in the same age group (e.g., Adult to Adult).
If you transfer to a different age group (e.g., Concession to Adult), you'll need to pay the difference in ticket price.
Mobile ticket transfers are available for all Men’s and Women’s Season Ticket holders.

He made a mistake. He meant to put the child is 13.

That’s what we don’t know. That seems too easy to just forward on. But who knows.

Football used to be a fun hobby. You could, on a whim, just decide to go to a game. Jump on a bus or train, queue up, pay the entrance fee and watch the game. It was relatively cheap, even kids could afford it with their pocket money, often supplemented with a paper round or similar. If you were in a different part of the country it was the same. You could take in any game and as long as you went in the home end and kept your head down you were generally okay.
Now it's becoming a chore. More and more restrictions. If you're visiting another city you can't just go to a game without having a membership or a previous purchase history. Once upon a time clubs valued season ticket holders, they were a guaranteed paid up front income, now they are an inconvenience for successful clubs. They're not wanted, they want tourists paying top money and purchasing souvenirs. They make it more difficult to retain that season ticket, like our clubs "You must personally attend ten games or else" policy. They know full well tv schedules moving fixtures around will make that more difficult. Now retired I like to take more holidays, going to a football match isn't my whole existence. If I missed games before I always put them on the seat exchange. As a foc, the club gave me £20 back and probably resold my ticket for at least £60. So they gained on me missing a game. Now I'm having to plan my winter breaks around the fixture list so I can guarantee the ten game allowance criteria. It's a fucking nonsense and there are enough hoops we have to jump through in everyday life without adding going to a football game to the list. I hate being dictated to and I am.on the verge of fucking it all off, which of course is exactly what they want me to do. Sad after fifty seven years of supporting them, but at least I've seen us win everything there is after thinking I'd die without seeing us even win a league cup again. That's modern football and life for you I guess.
Great post. But very sad.

If its any consolation its not just City who are doing this. My misses and her family are all seasoncard holders at Everton and have just had the same discussion as us. They cant transfer their tickets to a person who wants to go unless they pay £40 for a membership.
It sounds like Everton like Leeds are tougher on fans than City. At Leeds you need a £50 or £75 membership to have a ticket transferred to you and a lot of their away ticket loyalty points system has been relaxed with a lottery.

That said, I still don’t know why us / City are making these changes when we will soon have a 60k plus stadium to fill.

Same here, so I press download and it says I have already done it (which I had).

The web site is utter shite, I have tried everything and can not find a way to add anybody to my friends & family. I have two people in there already and am at a loss to know how I got them there in the first place.

The whole thing is a complete ballache.
