Will we win the league this season?

A few years ago, City played at a very high level in most matches. We've dropped off from that. To recapture our former level requires the return of Stones and Rodri at their best, and we can't predict that. We can hope for it.
I think that's what saying, we had a period of adapting new ways of playing without Rodri and other injuries. It's fine margins and not quite getting it right it enough to lose a game. We may not seem to play at levels from the past but I think opposition can defend better against us, hence why sometimes we struggled and I think we are thinking of new ways to break that problem it was beginning to work the last 3rd of last season.

Absolute joke the amount of pathetic, negative fans we have in our fan base. Obviously we didn't have the best year last year, but you can't expect us to win every trophy every year all the time! No team has ever won 4 titles in a row, we did it. And fans are moaning about us not getting 5. These idiotic fans saying we haven't strengthened when we've brought in the best Serie A midfielder, a tricky French winger/10, a top top goalkeeper and some backups too.

Sometimes I wonder whether the treble season led to false expectations from our fans, everyone seems to always be having a moan, do you think players can perform to the highest standards if the fans are moaning because we might not win the lot again and again.

We have had one of the best windows we've ever had, and who knows maybe Nunes or Lewis can put a shift in at RB, or maybe even the return of the inverting John Stones! No wingers good enough? We've brought in one of the best players in the Bundesliga in Marmoush and don't forget Foden was the best player in the league in 2024. (A year ago), one off season he's had and he's said himself he had problems outside of the game. Our players aren't robots, and the fans should stop moaning all the time and get behind the team with a positive and exciting attitude.
Thankfully some of us are more open minded regarding what one is, or is not allowed to say. Some people like a good moan. Some people think that recent windows are not amongst the best we've ever had. Some people are a right pain in the arse. Some people just want to argue with other people, and some people just like the sound of their own voice. Once everything falls within a broad range of what is acceptable I see no issue and long may it continue.

The media and all it's City hating snakes have the dippers to win at a Canter and we'll be lucky to get 3rd. That fuckin suits me! Pile all the pressure on them by all means and go against the greatest manager of all time at your peril. Pep won't want to go 2 seasons without that crown and I trust that he's already got his plan in place to recapture that title. I'm quietly confident, but buy a decent right back and I'll be very noisily confident. C'MON CITY!!!
I too would have the dippers favourites but not by a country mile. This is the first season in quite a while that we don't really know what to expect from our lads. We are the typical unknown quantity in terms of our squad but with a proven master pulling the levers. It makes for an exciting season and if we have better luck on the injury front I expect us to contend well into spring.

Not a chance I'm afraid of a title challenge. Dippers and Arsenal I feel have moved further ahead of us this summer and I think Chelsea will finish above us also. We will be in a very tough challenge for 4th spot.
Obviously I hope I am hugely wrong but we still have a weak, injury prone defence where 1 shot = goal still, and no proper RB and a severe lack of goals throughout the team with only Haaland who we cannot get into half of the games as the only credible goal threat.
Hopefully Phil finds his form again but I just feel all the money we have spent in Jan and this summer, there are not many that improves our 1st team as Marmoosh isn't a regular starter when Haaland is fit, so probably only the left back and Rejinders are upgrades to the 1st 11.
Hopefully our new assistant manager will have us more direct and hoping some like Savinho, Doku etc ups their end product

Maybe, maybe not. Got to get that hunger, energy and relentless pressing game back. New guys got to settle in and quite a few others need to return to top form. Taking a few more points of our competitors could really help.

On Scum Radio last night at about 9.30 pm, some know-nowt (a pundit of some sort, not a fan phoning in) was saying that Liverpool will win the league by a country mile - have it wrapped up by March, and break our 100 points record.

Mmmmmm - I thought; shall I phone in? Next thought: fuck that!

The appointment of him will hopefully change the way we play. I don’t care if we don’t win the league. I care more about the style of football. It was turgid last season bar a few games. 9/1 for the Champions League looks good value to me.

Will Pep revert back to wingers / wide forwards?

Doku on the left with Cherki on the right? Since Mahrez left, we have struggled on the right. Doku has shown enough for me to think he will might deliver.

The midfield and forwards look as good as any team has in Europe. The defence on the other hand has me concerned that we will give up too many soft goals in the big games. Hope I'm wrong obviously.

Feels like a long time since the season ended. I'm really looking forward to sitting in the pub atching a match.

I've not had a beer in 2 months and so really up for it now.

Shipping out a fresh young talent like Echeverri concerns me, I would really have liked to see what he is capable of.

Top 4 would be my best guess.

Please no more FA Cup Finals where we don’t turn up.
