16 | Rodri 2025/26

The way I’m reading it is Rodri won’t be 100% and back to his best until after the international break.
Doesn’t mean he won’t play before then.
Maybe I’m reading it wrong?
It was a bad injury and he was out for a long time so it’s understandable that it’ll take time to get back to his best.
He just needs minutes to regain that fitness.
Just sounds like Pep being cautious.

I said at the tail end of last season, when there were rumours of his impending return, that I wouldn't play him before the start of the upcoming season. Why we played him in America during the summer, when the priority had to be the premier league, beats me.
I always remember Colin Bell coming back to Division 1 action just 6 months after his horrendous injury and no way was he ever anywhere near to being fit.
These things take time.
I presume Rodri played in USA because Pep viewed it as a friendly

I asked the question a few days ago after the rumoured £100m bid from Real Madrid whether we should consider it.

As great as he is he’s no good to us if he isn’t playing.

Madrid wouldn’t sign an injured player, or it would be a fee based on appearances. No way we get that money upfront. Anyway if there’s only a 50% chance he gets back to where he was I wouldnt take £200m for him.

It’s not great news. No right back, Foden injured and Gvardial.

Fortunately Wolves first up but it gets harder after that.

Hopefully Stones is fit. Match winner there last season.

Fucking quite believable, unfortunately. Was a decent risk of reinjury or at the very least not being fully up to speed for a significant part of the season. Hopefully he recovers well from the setback and Nico G/Reijnders etc do well in his stead
It’ll be a mixture of Bernardo & Gundo next to Reijndere.
