Kevin Keegan

I'd been dragged to City matches as a kid but preferred playing footy rather than watching so in all honesty, I found it a bit of a chore, that all changed in 2001 under Keegan. Thats when I can remember, actually starting to enjoy watching us. Went on a visit to a training session at Carrington (I think must have been 2002) and Keegan was fantastic, very down to earth, still remember to this day Fowler really not wanting to sign autographs and I never warmed to him after that!

I fell in love with City in 2002, and KK and the style of play he oversaw was a principal reason for why I became quickly smitten. Loved Benarbia and Berkovic as playmakers, and The Goat was still scoring big goals. Great memories of an era bygone but never to be forgotten.

When we cane up in 2002 I remember the likes of Berkovic, Foe and Nicolas Jensen dominating the rags at the swamp. Sat incognito in the home end, the Goat equalised and had to keep my hands on my seat. Then we rolled another one in for it to be ruled out for Anelka hand balling it. I jumped up, no one batted an eye lid as they were all Far Eastern tourists.

I'll never forget that magical left-footed volley by Jensen that somehow found the net from way, way out.

Two reasons to love KK - who else could say?
1) Cramp can be worse than a broken leg
2) I'd love to be a mole on the wall in that dressing room

The Keegan era was when I well and truly caught the City bug. I look back on that era with great memories, especially beating them lot for the first time in my life time. Will always be a legend in my eyes and most blues I imagine.

This is my favourite Keegan moment. I used to love that show!

Watch a YT video about Brian Jacks. He lives in rural Thailand and still rides 20 miles a day. He's still a very motivated guy.

Worth a watch as he talks about the show and his life past and present.

I wish we had KK back in the game, he was a great manager who entertained every football fan. The football his teams played was sensational and that team with Benarbia, Berkovic, SWP and The Goat was something else. Other than Pep era football it was easily the best City team I've watched.

I hope he knows how well thought of he is, I'd rather have the league filled with KK types than most of the boring, bus-parking bastards that make games shit to watch.

I recall a friendly against Oldham, must have been 2003. Waited for the team after the game and I remember every player I asked signed, including Keegan I think. Not sure if Fowler was there then though.
