Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

Lol what do we want a GK who can save shots or a GK who's got good feet but can't save anything lol
We want keepers that do both , if people don’t get that about Pep now they never will. At the moment we have Trafford and Ederson that can do both to varying degrees. Donnarumma can’t do both to a good standard so I’d be shocked if this wasn’t made up nonsense.

I've to ask and I guess, make a point, that this could help a lot with the fitness and ability of some of our players. Yes, Donnarumma shifts our play style quite drastically, and I would imagine it puts more of a reliance on Stones' ability to play out from the back, but at the same time, I feel like we would have more cover at the back, if not physically, mentally.
It may give us more solidity to hold a high line, players like Stones and even Rodri wouldn't have to make as many recovery runs and wouldn't have as much stress on their bodies.
Maybe I'm overthinking it, but it feels possible.

They're in no position to stick to that valuation. 1 year left on his deal and they've signed a new number 1. They aren't going to want a number 2 who is on the wages he's on who they then can't make money on in a year.

That’s about 35million pounds. Can we really expect to get him cheaper than that? There is also a cost of *not* doing I.e we don’t have an experienced keeper and he goes to a rival

I think Trafford will be fuming if true. He’ll end up as a permanent bench player. At least with Ederson going soon, you could see a pathway for him.

I don’t get this signing at all, if it’s true. He’s also pretty poorly with his feet, which is what I thought everyone had become obsessed with

This just doesn't make any sense, although you could argue our transfer policy for three years hasn't!

I thought we would be addressing the balance of the squad this summer and bringing in players who are more physical, better in transition, quicker to the second ball, we haven't we've gone with type, so ok fair enough… then why bring in a keeper whos absolutely dreadful with his feet.

It just doesn't seem to be the right fit for the way we continue to want to play.

Or maybe its just been forced on us, as Eddies found his move.

Ah ok. Because battling it out with Pope, an ageing, injury prone keeper is the same as battling it out with a 50m world class keeper, who will start pretty much every game. Thats exactly the same.

He has a clear pathway currently. This signing would completely stop him from becoming our first choice.

He’s terrible with feet as well, so we’d have to change the way we play out

Trust me Donnarumma would be pressed like hell, why ? because he is shit with his feet.. Its a weakness and teams jump on a weakness

Maybe we are not putting to much emphasis on passing out from the back. More than a few times we've gone long in pre season to Haaland. A lot more than we usually do

Don`t upset the applecart ChB, as someone else pointed out if Trafford doen`t like it he can always fuck off next season.
Unfuckingbelievablejeff !!

The reason he’s on high wages is they got him on a free so PSG saved a transfer fee and Donna was given the higher wage, they’ve obviously now replaced as they can’t bring his wage down. The fact they got him for free and got the use out of him they did, there’s no way they’d want 50m for him and will take less just to get his wage off the books now

Him and Courtouis are the best in the world so we’d be silly not to go for him!

Unless he’s alright with being an understudy for the next five years or only playing cup games I’m sure he will fuck off next season!
