Evening all - Forest fan in peace - reading through this thread there seems to be a mixed opinion about Lewis? He certainly fits our profile of transfers and we need a RB as we basically ran Aina into the ground last season (why we had to play a 19yr old CB against you at Wembley). Is he good enough to back up and eventually replace Aina for us? Cheers

Playing for Forest in the way that Nuno sets up will help him at fullback because our defence gets exposed when playing such a high line.

Losing Lewis, and replacing with Gusto, leaves us +2 which is almost impossible. We also have 6 CBs that will need minutes. They’ll almost certainly go without unless they managed to get Akanji out which probably won’t happen. And even at that, we’d still have +1 on the foreign player quota.

I think what some fans don’t recognise is that some players just want game time. It was reported (don’t know how true) that some players had been given some ‘home truths’ this week. May be that game time was limited in the future, and some players considering their position. I think as we did with James, getting a buy back and sell on is key. If other clubs develop players that’s fine, if they want to come back of course. Depending on the goalkeeper situation with Trafford and possibility of a new keeper coming in, that might harm the buy back clause. However, if the young player wants to go, a buy back and sell on is the best we can hope for.

Why do people still not understand that Rico lewis is a club trained under 21 player and therefore doesnt even feature on our squad list? There is no replacing him. He doesnt take up a place in any squad list so therefore he cannot free up a place that he isnt taking. If we were looking at "replacing" him we would have to sell somebody else first and not replace them

What are we going to do with the money? We dont have financial issues, we cannot replace him in the squad, having that extra body available is worth far more to us than whatever offer comes in for him.
