Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

posted before I saw it, but if he's not injured you'd expect him to be on the bench wouldn't you? Don't believe everything you read on twitter
What does Twitter have to do with it? His manager says he isn’t injured. I am afraid I dont know Onana personally so i cant ask him

Why would we rotate keepers?

I struggle to see why so many City fans are baulking at Donnarumma when he has been one of the standout goalkeeper in European football for the last 5 years. Trafford might be able to play at that level. But the operative word there is might. Your option carries risk.
For some it's the "romance" of Trafford coming through the academy and eventually becoming our starting keeper, perhaps?

It's like with Foden (and don't misunderstand/misconstrue I really like Foden and think he is a good player). If an upgrade on him was presented to us, who wanted to join the team, there is a sizeable portion of blues who would automatically say no because Phil is "one of our own."

Now, I'm not saying this line of thinking is wrong or right. However, I do think that could be it for some.

If we’re genuinely in for him then we’ll get him. If he’s given the choice of us or the rags then it’s a no brainer.

It’s just whether our interest is genuine.

Ortega is probably fed up being second choice, and I would agree with him
Or, he "knows his level." On the best teams in the world, he will likely be the second keeper. "It is what it is."

He has zero caps at any level for Germany. He is a good GK but not a great GK. If he wants to be the the number one again, he may have to do it at a mid table or lower side in the Prem or move to France, Holland, etc to play for a "big team."

It's no shame on him. He's miles better than any of us ever were or ever will be as a GK. The lure of £ is powerful though. It's probably been difficult to leave being the number two here knowing he may not make as much money elsewhere.

Yep. Seems nailed on to me that United will throw a lot of money to get donnarumma.

It just doesn’t make sense for city to sign him in. He doesn’t suit city at all

“Next week, it will be a different story. This week, we chose these players”.

Weird quote that.

Why say that, why say he’s dropped if he’s just coming back from injury. Both are completely different statements

Mu lost today because of their shit keeper - that's exactly why a world-class keeper is crucial. Can't let him go to the rags, we need to get him.

So, we agree

Trafford did absolutely nothing wrong yesterday. He looked cool, calm and collected.I don't believe we need to be going for anyone else. Get a bloody right back.
He wasn’t tested
Do you think Trafford gets in any of the top 5 sides in the world as first choice at the moment ?
I don’t therefore he shouldn’t for us

No he didn’t, but he was hardly under the cosh for lots of the game. Need more than one game and against tougher opponents to make any rational calls

He was tested and passed with flying colours. He was miles better than I thought he was. His reaction and speed is something we've been missing for a couple of seasons now

Why should we give a fuck who goes there?? Every single elite player they and the media have wanked themselves silly over the last 12 years has resulted in said player's career fizzling out. In some cases they leave and their career magically takes off again. I can't believe there are still blues who worry about them getting anyone.

I sort of hope they do get him because I want Trafford to continue in net and they aren't remotely a threat, regardless of who's in net for them.

Looks like media is ready with headlines .

United beat City to the signature of CL Winning worlds best Goalkeeper Donarumma

Ederson has one leg out already, are we going into season with Trafford and Ortega as ours Goalkeepers ?

Donnarumma is not good enough for PSG but good enough for us? Doesn’t sound right. Is Lucas Chevalier a better keeper than Trafford? Not sure about that.
