Strange logicDonnarumma is not good enough for PSG but good enough for us? Doesn’t sound right. Is Lucas Chevalier a better keeper than Trafford? Not sure about that.

It's not often that we are under the cosh but we give soft goals away & it could have been a different narrative had the Wolves strike stayed on sideNo he didn’t, but he was hardly under the cosh for lots of the game. Need more than one game and against tougher opponents to make any rational calls
If we’re genuinely in for him then we’ll get him. If he’s given the choice of us or the rags then it’s a no brainer.
It’s just whether our interest is genuine.

Not sure he was tested but I agree he was also better than I thought he wasHe was tested and passed with flying colours. He was miles better than I thought he was. His reaction and speed is something we've been missing for a couple of seasons now
But those are not top 5 sides in the world are they and surely that’s where we aspire to beYes i would have him instead of Raya, Pope and Samchez
Sorry read premier league. IBut those are not top 5 sides in the world are they and surely that’s where we aspire to be
they won't pick up his wages until they have tooReally hope this happens, surprised it’s taking this long.
Galatasary taking the piss a bit, been in talks for weeks/months and launched two derisory bids? Come off it.
A treble winning GK isn’t better than someone that got dropped by an already relegated Burnley? Because that’s what you’re implyingDonnarumma is not good enough for PSG but good enough for us? Doesn’t sound right. Is Lucas Chevalier a better keeper than Trafford? Not sure about that.
Thats weird logic as well.A treble winning GK isn’t better than someone that got dropped by an already relegated Burnley? Because that’s what you’re implying
You rate Trafford, and so do I, but if City sell Ederson, I would prefer to have a more experienced keeper for games vs Arsenal etc. I don't think there are many keepers <=22 years old in the Premier League and this is for a reason. It is an unnecessary risk.Trafford did absolutely nothing wrong yesterday. He looked cool, calm and collected.I don't believe we need to be going for anyone else. Get a bloody right back.
I don’t think players always leave because they aren’t good enough. Donnarumma could easily stay there as number 1.Donnarumma is not good enough for PSG but good enough for us? Doesn’t sound right. Is Lucas Chevalier a better keeper than Trafford? Not sure about that.
You could do that for every player though. Oscar Bobb was brilliant yesterday, but you know we could just spend 100m on a ready made world class player instead. It's like with Foden (and don't misunderstand/misconstrue I really like Foden and think he is a good player). If an upgrade on him was presented to us, who wanted to join the team, there is a sizeable portion of blues who would automatically say no because Phil is "one of our own."
It’s the same logic they applied not my own logic. It’s just strange in general. My logic is this is a win win situation. If Donna flops Trafford gets game time if he doesn’t we have two good GKs in our ranks. No drawbacksThats weird logic as well.
No drawbacks? I’d argue basically preventing Trafford from having any chance of becoming our first choice keeper is a drawback. We aren’t spending huge money on a keeper and dropping him. It’s the same logic they applied not my own logic. It’s just strange in general. My logic is this is a win win situation. *Sigh* I knew someone would be unhappy about this and think I am slighting Phil. You could do that for every player though. Oscar Bobb was brilliant yesterday, but you know we could just spend 100m on a ready made world class player instead.
Why not develop an already brilliant young keeper into a world class one and save ourselves huge amounts of money as well. Actually give Trafford a chance, otherwise he’ll be gone next season.
Donnaruma for me hasn’t been world class over the last few years either. Great champions league last season, but very inconsistent prior to that.
Phil’s a world class player, who’s the main reason we won the last league btw he’s more than a good player
It's rare that a side conceded no chances unless the opposition is very poor. It's not often that we are under the cosh but we give soft goals away & it could have been a different narrative had the Wolves strike stayed on side
But how is it an issue if Donnarumma smashes it from the clubs POV? Personally you’d feel bad for Trafford but if we think about from the club’s POV it’s a win win situation. And if we replace Trafford it’s not a drawback at all. Trafford is only 4 years younger than Donnarumma too so it wouldn’t have repercussions long termNo drawbacks? I’d argue basically preventing Trafford from having any chance of becoming our first choice keeper is a drawback. We aren’t spending huge money on a keeper and dropping him.
Give it one season and Trafford will be off and we’ll have the same issue next season. For me Trafford is the long term solution
