82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

Fair enough; but the reason I call him a back up is because I think that Nunes is first choice - a point on which I may well be wrong. If Lewis is in our side for the next few fixtures, we'll find out who is first choice.
I really don’t think there is a 1st or 2nd choice at RB, they’re both that different attribute wise, I’d imagine tactics & opposition will be the main factors in determining who plays out of each of them

This is it entirely, I'm surprised anyone doesn't realise this tbh.

Back up? Why did he start the first game of the season if he’s ’back up’ right back?
I think because Nunes has shit it when we’ve played at wolves. He lets the jeering get to him

However, Rico took the opportunity well.

The way we played would suggest that it was a tactical decision to me, but who knows & quite frankly, who cares seeing as we won :)

And yes, agreed, Rico was great against Wolves, as was pretty much every player

Yes tactical also makes sense cos if we go back to preseason when Bobb was ripping it up he had lewis underlapping him with good effect. Those two do seem to have an understanding.

These next few games are maybe the biggest games in his City career so far imo. This is the first time ever he has a chance of being the starting RB for the entire season, and these games will be vital to see if he can cut it. Truth be told he’s coming up against Johnson today who’s abit shite, it’s not prime Heung Min Son. However, we’ve seen Rico give horrific performances against Spurs at times. Time to deliver. I don’t think he’ll ever be a top quality RB, and I’d love a replacement but I hope I’m proved wrong cos I can see he genuinely loves the club

Don‘t know if he would be 1st choice RB at any other PL club.
It’s like Pep just picked out a random lad from the crowd in every big game he plays. It’s actually funny now. Sadly you can’t say anything about him on here because there’s people who actually think he’s good.
