Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

But if that replacement brings you 10+ goals and 20 assists a season which Savinho hasn't done and doesn't look like achieving it's worth it.

Only 5 players managed that all last season in Europe mate (one already plays for us!), you might need to lower your sights a bit.

Savinho getting 19 G/A in la liga is pretty exceptional and if he could match that in the PL he'd likely outperform his potential replacements.

The only thing I don't want is selling sav and getting no one back. I can see that happening though. Bobb is first choice for me as RW and doku can play on the right, so maybe we feel happy with what we've got already and selections become easier.

Yeah don't get me wrong his finishing is the worst part of his game statistically by a mile. Doesn't help he averages less than 3 shots a game, if he was encouraged to be a more high volume shooter he'd likely improve it quickly.

2% is definitely a statistical anomaly though. He can be bad at shooting and still just reasonably expect a below average return of say 8-10%.

He actually shoots decently on target, with 51% accuracy, they just happened to not go in much more than you'd expect last year. Usually some bounce off defenders, keepers fluff it, go the wrong way... He had an xg of 4 which isn't incredible by any means but it shows he's been very unlucky to only do a quarter of that.

The season before he scored 9 goals off apparently only 20 shots on target. So he was essentially lethal then.

These stats below are ridiculous for a 20 (until april) year old in a new league

If it wasnt for the hideously low non-penalty goals he's a 100m player.

I actually agree about the attitude. He does seem to get disheartened, which seemed to affect his confidence shooting especially. But he's and new guy in a new culture and new language who's just turned 21 so i think we can work on it and expect it to mature.
As always, people are assuming his Girona season was the norm and last season was the anomaly
The reverse is just as likely to be true, probably even more so as it was in this league, in this country
Last season was better, more recent and more relevant evidence

He's clearly a skillful footballer so it would be surprising if his finishing was really so poor. He's getting in good positions, which is half the job.

In my view, he looked desperate to score early on and never quite got over that nervous pressure. Lots of players are relaxed when they break through, but struggle once they start getting attention and start to feel the pressure. I can't believe he'll have a season as poor as last year in front of goal, but whether he ends up an average finisher or totally overcomes the nerves, I wouldn't like to guess.

The "norm" isn't set on Savinho.

Shooting 2% is an anomaly for anyone. Not just Savinho.

10% is average. 15% good. 20% exceptional.

2% - nearly unheard of. Anomalous.

If he shot 7%, sure he'd be a below average shooter, that'd be statistically relevant. 2% too low to expect to continue.

The reverse isn't likely to be true.
