If we continue to play a high line having one of the best GKs in the world at saving shots isn’t a bad idea. We also need much more pace in the back line as well
he solves our problem in the sense he is an established experienced goalkeeper and at 26 years old is still young for a keeper, and should have his best years ahead of him still to improve further . Yes Pep will have to find a system that works to include Donna, but thats why he is paid the big money to solve such things . I believe Pep never in his wildest dreams thought he would still be City manager at this point and would have to radically think about changing his system ,that would be someone else's challenge.Donarumma doesn't solve our issues. And he potentially creates or at least makes the existing ones worse
I'm interested in opposing views as I'd really like someone to persuade me otherwise that this signing is essential to improving our performances regularly on tge pitch...which o don't see despite seeing Donarummas huge positive attributesIt's your story, Simon. Tell it however you wish to tell it. Fwiw, you needn't take as much time and thought replying to short messages like mine.
Similar to you, the majority of people here aren't interested in being "persuaded."

And that’s fine, but you’re posting the same argument ad nauseum. No it doesn't you are right
I'm just challenging peopled opinions ....exactly what a forum is for...discussion...lots of people posting opposing views. I have zero problem with opposing views to mine
We will see at the end of this season.
Apart from Kush. I reckon we have got the slowest defence in the league. If we continue to play a high line having one of the best GKs in the world at saving shots isn’t a bad idea. We also need much more pace in the back line as well
Livramento pleaseApart from Kush. I reckon we have got the slowest defence in the league.
Ake
Akanji
Stones
Dias
Won't be anywhere near the sprinting charts this season.
as are others on the other side of the argument. Like i said at least i can see both sides and know the positives of the potential transferAnd that’s fine, but you’re posting the same argument ad nauseum.
I’m already counting that Eddie is gone so the question for me “will Donnarumma make us a better team?” If the answer is yes then it’s full steam ahead
I don't see Galatasaray stumping up for Ederson. Same applies for Savinho.
We will end up having two players that don't want to be here.
I see your point but I still think both mistakes have something similar. Donnarumma wasn't aware of his surroundings enough before getting the ball, and Trafford wasn't aware that Nico was being heavily marked(or maybe he was aware but just did it anyway). The mistake isn't due to a press. The mistake is just completely ignoring whats going on around you. He doesn't succumb to pressure, he doesn't even see it coming.
Like I said, taking one touch too many did him in. Someone shouting "man on" wouldn't hurt either. Definitely just as bad as Trafford, just a different mistake.
And to refer back to my last post, this was in Nov 2023. Has he done this since? Because the goal wasn't the only issue Trafford had yesterday.
It has to happen quickly, the window closes in a week…Only two plays in town...
Let Eddie run down his final year, which he doesn't want to do.
Or sign the guy we've had boxed off for a couple months.
I expect both Donnarumma to now happen quickly and Spurs to bid again.
At last someone else gets it!If we continue to play a high line having one of the best GKs in the world at saving shots isn’t a bad idea. We also need much more pace in the back line as well
And RodriSooner or later we are going to need a new GK. There will never be a keeper like Ederson.
He is unique a one off.
But even recently his job has become harder as the rest of our team isn't as good.
If we miss chances to score as we did yesterday it might make sense to have Donnarumma to come to the rescue when various unmarked forwards are bearing down on our goal.
We are no longer in control of games so we need a few big players to bail us out with their brilliance.
Haaland, Donnarumma, Cherki, Foden, Reinjders have that X factor
He hasn't physically gone just mentally checked out of beingIf Eddie has already gone as some posters are saying, why was he on the bench on Saturday?
MCFC OS.
On the bench, there are welcome returns for Rodri, Phil Foden and Ederson.
