Dias is out of form and has been for a while but binning him would be a mistake. He is a leader and we don’t have as many of those as we used to.Both arguments have some merit, particularly Dias I was astounded to hear we are going to buid our defence around him for the next five years. Haaland has to put the ball in the net at least 30 times a league season to justify his place imo. He seems capable of doing this most of the time so it seems wise to play him even if he contributes little to general play. While I think we have made the right decision in backing him I would be far from devastated if we sold him for a very large fee moving forward.
Haaland does not need to score 30 goals a season to justify his place. He occupies multiple defenders whether he scores or not. When he hasn’t been in the team our results have not improved. He is a generational talent and his contributions in other areas is improving too like the beautiful ball he put on a plate for Marmoush to miss. Is it OK for Marmoush to stay?…you get my point..we can’t buy and discard forever…we only need to look at United to see it’s not the way forward.
