PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I agree. Actually my support of city hinges on the decision.

I like to keep a strong set of morals and if it was our rival clubs found guilty of this, we would be be all over them for years of cheating. We would want them out of the game. I think I'd have to keep that same sense of morality when it's closer to home.

If we are found guilty, I'll be extremely ashamed of the club because we always considered ourselves "good" club. It would be hard to lend my support to an outfit that's breaking laws.

I'm sure I won't stop being a city fan per se, but I think my level of investment in it will no longer be there. Maybe time will be a healer but I'll be heartbroken if we are guilty, especially knowing how we would view other clubs if they were in that position.

I think we'll beat it though or at least come to some settlement where all parties come out of it not looking too bad.

Really? So if we’re not cleared by the panel - knowing how other clubs are never investigated in the way that we have been - you won’t be furiously thinking that this is all a set up by the red cartel who never get done for anything. Think - why , for example, were rags allowed to write off such a huge sum for Covid? Has any other club had their business investigated over a 10 year period?

Instead of disbelieving the club you should be considering the intention of the PL regarding our successful club.

Corruption in football organisations has been proved at the highest level - Platini; Blatter to name two. Don’t really think our PL has been innocent in all this

I would struggle to disagree more with this. If we were talking about long established rules that existed for a legitimate purpose, your expectations of the club might be reasonable. But we are not. These rules were invented and put in place by a protectionist cartel with the sole intention of stifling the development of City, and anybody else who might challenge the established order. Not content with that, the goalposts have been consistently moved to make compliance for us more difficult, whilst clear transgressions by the cartel have been ignored and interest free loans have been deemed legitimate.
You reference being ashamed if we are guilty. I feel the other way around. I obviously want us to be exonerated, but the shame would have been if we had meekly just accepted the bent status quo, rather than going for it as we did, and winning everything.

If i was a Newcastle fan I would be livid that the new owners are just lying down and obeying the cartel rules. One member of the cartel trying to buy their striker by using these rules. OK Newcastle are refusing to sell, but Newcastle should be spending millions in upgrading their squad not being stopped by the red cartel rules.

My support is irrelevant to the charges, partly because the charges we are alleged to have broken have no impact upon what the players did on the pitch and were related to how the club is financed (which really isnt my problem), but mainly because its my club irrespective of who our owners are or what they have done.

Even if I wanted our owners to change (and like many on here many years ago I protested about Swales, both before and after matches) but I will still support my club. We are not a cult, our owners can do bad things and I wouldn't defend them, but I would still support my club

We all thought that City had just got through before the drawbridge closed but persistent rule changes aimed at us with massive charges on past city rule following have forced legal action.

If Newcastle feel they are being unfairly treated start legal action.

Maybe they feel the rules are about to be removed or eased significantly so are waiting for the city appeal to be released.

Maybe the Board Member that Qatar has on PL asks for no legal action.

Maybe they think they belong with other compliant clubs who have earned historic pass keys

Who knows but I have no intention to feel sorry for Newcastle they are either with the fox or the hounds with their dilemma.
