Yes, but I couldn’t see why that was funny. It’s just a fact of life. The same rule applies to women: if it doesn’t fit, turn her over.

I’ve noticed that the two square holes on the metal bit are a better guide. If you can see the white plastic that goes underneath, if it’s clear, that is the top bit. Of course some have black plastic inside to ruin this method and some devices have the female socket upside down too.
