Was there not a Kneecap thread somewhere?

Anyway, im off to see Fontaines DC supported by Kneecap (and Chalk) here in Belfast this evening...gonna blag out of work a bit early

Neither have played here since all the madness surrounding Kneecap this summer....im looking forward to it and sense it could be a wee bit mental :-)

Yeah, they are a bit of a Marmite band. The music press made lazy comparisons with them and The Smiths, but I always thought they sounded like a combination of REM and The Jam.
I thought they were a bit of fresh air in the 90s as they were lyrically intelligent compared to the majority of Britpop bands.

Yeah. They got the Smiths tag which wasn’t helpful and unfortunately for them Oasis, Pulp and Blir cornered the market in that era.
 
Just purchased pre-sale tickets for Puressence at Manchester Academy for next May.
Glad to be now seeing my two favourite 90s bands (Puressence and Gene) within weeks of each other next spring.
