It's Quiet the £250m return

So another potential transition season?
Interesting term that "transition". Considering the roster we have and our wage bill I don't think the club ever think we're in transition. Last year wasn't a transition. It was the result of some complacency and a bit of poor planning on the part of the club, some big injuries, and some tired, aging legs. Pep didn't have his best year either. But it is what it is...
Note: All relative to our established standards.

I thought “can do a job” wasn’t good enough.
It isn’t but square pegs in round holes is way worse.
If they’re pinning all their hopes on Livramento next season then fine but everyone has a price. You’ll overpay but for a position we wouldn’t have to worry about for seasons. It’s justified

Would you have taken any of these?

There's no real reason to assume any other RB is available

No I would do one of 2 things
A: Pay the damn money for my first target even tho I will overpay. 80 mil over 10 years is fine with me. It’s not like we’ve spent a ton this summer
B: Let go of Akanji Gundo Kova etc and get a non HG option like
Dumfries
Kounde
Vanderson
Munoz

There's talk on here of transition season, we're a relatively distant 3rd favourites with the bookies and a lot of our own fans agree with that.
I'd love to know what Pep and Viana genuinely think about this season. Do they think we're right up there or that we're a bit short and still need a couple of windows to sort this out? How does this square with Khaldoun's expectations who was publically bullish about our chances this season.

Unfortunately and only my personal opinion but this squad is no where near the level it should be in certain postions....we seem to of taken our eye off the ball once the champions league goal was achieved and comes across at times as let's make do...it's absolutely criminal that the RB position ain't been addressed...a season of Rico and nunes in there is going to be a tough watch unless kush is given a bash

Lol that's not how we work.
I really believe he's the player we've identified (like we did with Haaland for Aguero) as the long term replacement for Walker, but clearly won't pay the £70m (reported) because we it's far too high.

The Geordies will sell cos of these stupid PSR rules but are ok this year
1) cos they've got CL.
2) cos they're on the right side of it and
3) cos they gonna get mega ding off the dippers for Isak.

Next season if they don't make CL the landscape changes and prices will drop.
