Jack Grealish - Everton on loan

Absolutely PHENOMENAL performance yesterday

Didnt lose the ball once and won it back more than anyone on the pitch. The exact kind of control we need in the side. not to mention 2 unbelievable assists..

It's a disgrace we let a top class player like this go on loan and not utilised him properly, yet we have the likes of Doku and Marmoush stinking up the wing

We were a far better side with Jack and could control games better.

It's no surprise he felt frustrated and needed a change when he knows full well he's better then those picked ahead of him.

Before the statto's start wheeling out numbers, David Silva didn't actually have the most impressive stats on paper in terms of G/A's but he made us a far better team. We were better with Jack as a starter.
Silva averaged 8 goals and 14 assists per season, over a 10 year period for us. Those are stunning stats.

Who'd have thought playing a player in his preferred position, giving him free reign, having confidence in him, would yield positive results.

Jack is doing what Jack does; making goals for others. Some Blues seemed to think that for £100m he was supposed to get 40 goals a season or some bollocks. Jack doesn't get them, he sets them up!

Our Loss is Everton's gain.

No comeback then?

I can't see it.

I personally didn't get why he wasn't played more last season. Off field issues I assumed. But we had so many in dire form and he actually looked pretty effective when he played.

His time with us was done for one reason or another and I can't see Pep using him again.

I wonder if it came down to the fact he had niggles when we desperately needed him. Pep wants players like Bernardo, who will do everything they can to play. It's not always just about the level of performance, it's about attitude and desire.

Doesn't look to be doing anything different to what he did for us. But unlike with us, the passes are ending up as assists and the headlines are coming with it. I don't think he was bad last season but clearly wasn't doing what Pep expected.

Happy for him, will always like Jack and it was the right decision to move him on. His time with us was done.
4 assists. Two starts. Manager believing in him and playing him consistently reaps rewards. Who’d have thought it

There will be an element of Everton not facing a 10 man defensive wall every game too!

Two games he plays well with loads of freedom, no low block against him let’s see if clubs now start taking more regard of him Said as a fan of his, no one was more delighted when he signed but I was also disappointed with him since the treble season

Jack is allowed to attack opposition defenses at all times times in the final 3rd of the pitch at Everton.
Not here. Pep relies on ball retention.
I'm not complaining, Pep's success in English football is phenominal.
So good luck Jack- enjoy.

It's particularly remarkable statistics, considering the cosplaying Directors of Football on here repeatedly claimed that Grealish only performed well for 4 months at City, despite the fact that the team won more games when he played and lost more when he didn't over his 4 years with the club.

Plenty of players have been allowed to play directly under Pep, even the likes of Doku now.

Whether Jack was under strict instructions to not play as direct or not, who knows, but it's a bit of a myth that Pep micro manages every player to the point that players can't attack defences. He's had loads of players with the freedom to do so.

You can't be serious about the comparison with Jack and David Silva. Jack might be doing ok at Everton at the moment but he clearly wasn't great for City apart from one half season that's why he's at Everton. We have some very strange supporters in our fan base.

Playing the same way he did in the treble season, the question is why didn't he kick on that following season.
The press, backed by some of our Pep hating City fans are desperate for Jack to do well for Everton to prove the evil Pep Guardiola wrong. All very strange to me. It's same with Cole Palmer.
