Can't believe what's happening to our club well run for the last 10 years.then a bad season last year.and we panic and go out and buy several average players who are not much better than what we have with our squad and youngsters. Instead of buying a couple of top notch players in positions where we need them right back ect.we now end up playing crap with a massive squad who you will struggle to get rid of.and God knows what the wage bill is
2 cup final defeats says it all. Cup finals! We're becoming a needy bunch, where we don't win trophies every year we want rid. Understandable in some circumstances but to me that's totally disrespectful of Pep and what he's achieved. Support the club and not the trophies. We haven't started this season well, obviously, but it's early days. If you told me now we would struggle (in relative terms) for 2 or 3 seasons then it is what it is, I don't want to become the club who gets rid of the best when they've done so much good for us as soon as we're up against it.
Sorry and no offence, it's just my opinion that I find it ridiculous that his job is being questioned.
If I woke up to news tomorrow that we'd sacked Pep I'd feel sick to my stomach.
Pep is a legend and the greatest manager in our history, But it's what he says about the pressure and criticism and he is right, NO manager is safe when the results are not coming
City will not sack Pep, that's 100% But when the time is right, he will leave
Looking at what he's got at the club in the squad and players he must feel he's fighting a losing battle

Liverpool under klopp also spent 2 seasons out of the top 4 but we are binning Pep off after a bad couple of months. We seem to be saying our back line can't cope under a press but also saying they should drop back closer to the goal. Also our best chance of winning is to drop our striker and play an unfit Foden there. Criticisms of right backs are fair enough :)I can live without winning the league another season, all I fear is becoming another Milan/United. You remain at the top for long and see extraordinary wealth and success.
And then you make one mistake - Maybe the wrong manager or the player or the sporting director. But the system is there and the players are there and you still win.
then you do a mistake again in the tranasfer and then suddenly 7 players need replacing.
And then you sign the wrong manager and suddenly you are hiring Amorim and scraping for Europa with 2 billion spend.
We have the evidences in the league itself.
Let wenger stay for long and you have arteta and a billion Euro spend and you are still looking for a title.

Sane's just rocked up in Turkey, Sterling has died somewhere and Mahrez was constantly criticised. We need to move on like we are all begging Pep to do with Silva. Closest thing to a KdB regen has had a total of 10 touches in the opposition box this season. That's over £10m per touch. Or over £100m per shots on target.
Half of this team didn't play in the Champions League final and most of those that did are coming off some long term injuries. Do we have issues to solve? Absolutely. Should we set fire to the Etihad? Maybe after the Derby.

We are being out coached , out played and out run. Brighton manager again out coached Pep. Again conceded the same exact goal as last season.
Same exact goal we’ve been conceding for 2 seasons now. We haven’t changed anything to deal with it. Every manager goes with the same tactics against us and Pep seems like doesn’t know what to do to stop it.

Madrid bring in quality year in year out. They know what it takes. I feel the board have completed their aim. We seem to be now relying on potential of players..mamoush, doku and savio whereas in the past we had proven premier league players grealish, sterling and Mahrez , the protocol has changed somewhere for the worst the ‘potentials’ are not and never will be good enough. Do we want to stay at the top or just ‘competitive’ that’s my worry.
Pep could relegate us and he'd still have my support. The guy who's done so much for us, continues to do so much for us. A little respect and support from a section of our fans when facing relative adversity wouldn't go amiss.

Those who don't attend matches still get to see the whole game - and with close-up, multi-angle, super-slo-mo replays of key moments from every corner of the pitch, that those in the stands don't necessarily see. Surely they can still have valid opinions?

I couldn’t agree more, pal.Its factual. I've never seen so much blame being placed anywhere else but with the supposed head man. People keep pointing to the fact that you can't win them all. Obviously. Who is arguing that. But you can keep from being absolutely shambolic and downright embarrassing on so many occasions in the past 18 months that I've lost count.
Slack and lackadaisical. We should have been two or three up before the pen. We went to sleep after it.
But its the manager's job to keep them awake and fully focus

Pep is a dictator. He won't listen. It's his way or the highway.What I find troubling is that I thought we got Pep Lijnders to help support Pep Guardiola build a team of intensity. It is disheartening seeing players out run ours. I wonder what Lijnders is doing if we are still using slow players.
Hugo Viana and Pep Lijnders need to improve their game.

Wanting to turn up to a cup final isn’t a big ask is it? To lose them finals in the way we did was criminal. Now I know that goes hand in hand with trophies by saying we should win them games but we should be at the bare minimum give a good account of ourselves.
His job being questioned is not ridiculous. If anybody consistently underperforms will be questioned. Even more so when he’s given every tool possible to do the job to the best of his ability. Wanting him out isn’t being disrespectful. He has my love and respect forever more for what he’s achieved. That doesn’t give him a job for life
Fair enough pal and each to their own and all that, not having a pop at you for having a different opinion just disagreeing with it is all.
I can't accept his time is up, I can't accept that he doesn't have ideas and enthusiasm, and more importantly the ability to turn it around.
I worry that if and when he moves on, we become more like the rags, constant chopping and changing of managers of much inferior quality.

i dont think Pep has ever really focused on what other teams can do to us, it looks like hes only ever concentrated on what WE can do to sides. When we had the players we had we would win these games, i just dont think we have the same calibre of players at the moment.We are being out coached , out played and out run. I have made it through to 20 pages of this thread and will have to give up. I am just so glad there was no such thing as the Internet, when we really were shit and on the verge of going bump. I would have been suicidal.
International break has come at a good time for us. I don't think it's all doom and gloom. Roll on Derby day.

United are where they are now because they were too sentimental towards who exactly? Imo it's more a sign of what we could become if we got rid of pep. Trying to replace him when it's just not possible. End up with manager after manager, a complete loss of identity and style.

A manager is only as good as his recent success rate. Once that goes, he's the same as any other bloke not pulling his weight at work. Pep understands this and has said on many occasions that he is rated on his current performance, not history.
Football managers KNOW the line they walk is a thin one. Get on the wrong side and, no matter how good you have been, the pressure will begin to grow.
