and now we have for the first time in 8 years entered a period of transition.

19/20 was a transitioning season. Kompany left, David and Sergio were past it, Otamendi as well, Ferna wasn't the same, Sane and Laporte injured, and so on.

The transition continued in the next season, we were 6th before Christmas. But then, completely unexpected for many fans, we won 21 games in a row. Pep created the next great team, with Dias, Ake, Akanji, Rodri, Grealish, Haaland new to the team, and Gundo, Stones and Foden with bigger roles than between 17-19.

It confuses the fuck out of me. If some City fans think Pep is suddenly going to play route one football then I don’t know what planet they’ve been living on for 18 years. Ederson was a huge part of our dominance because he was Pep keeper of his dreams.
But they have thrown away the mold. Pep has to figure out how to get the best from the team with a keeper not as good with his feet

Because we completely controlled a good team that we usually struggle against for 70 minutes. A bit disjointed and sloppy in the beginning, but then the balance started looking very promising, and could have eadily been up more than 1-0. Then we conceded, fitness levels went to shit, managed the game a bit poorly both from the sideline and on the pitch and then we had a disapointing result.

But with such a new team this early those 70 minutes counts for something. If we don't build on this or start regressing then it is time to worry
Not sure if wumming or mental.

Because they are further ahead than us in shaping their young squad and has had easier fixtures than us. They started with a 0-0 against Palace at home where they should have lost. We are 3 games in, seriously breathe. We are going to get better.
They also could have lost to Fulham but for one of the worst decisions in recent PL history barring the Fernandes derby "goal"

Not convinced one bit he improves where we are at right now.

The journalist Julien Laurens - who is a PSG fan - says he doesn't think Donnarumma even suits the PL let alone City. Says basically the one thing you have to be good at as a PL goalkeeper is being able to come out for crosses and he is terrible at it.

It's one of the reasons Onana is so bad.

Ben Foster reckons he is an immense shot stopper, but because of his height he gets lazy and takes for granted certain things in games because he knows/ or believes in too much that his height and arm length will bail him out
Laurens is a shameless gooner who constantly digs at City. Next

At the moment I'd say Wirtz doesn't look better than Cherki, certainly not better than Reijnders. I think Reis, Gonzalez, Khusanov will look like very shrewd bargains in 2 years.I can't wait to see this new young squad develop, with signings more like PSG than Madrid.
Apart from fact he can play for next 8 weeks or so whilst we have another injury to contend with

This is also spot on and people (including me) threw their toys out of their pram back then as well
