Two good things about this signing:-

1) Farteta showed the Prem that pressing Ederson was a waste of time, thus affecting our build-up, now opponents will test the new GK thus opening up our build-up again.

2) Pep will sign another Italian player to "buddy up" with the GK in the locker room, hopefully an Italian hard nut full-back.
Cambiaso was wide open

If he is reading some of these posts, he is definitely not coming, he has already been hung.

He's gonna be absolute class.

I can't wait for the Ederson poster boys to eat their words.

Writing a proven top player off before he even plays a game for us, is fucking weird.
I thought Eddie was fucking brilliant for us and he's the best keeper I've seen with the ball at his feet..brave as fuck and a good shot stopper regardless of what people try to make out..but I think Donnarumma will be an excellent signing too..he's been top class for years and while he's not as good with his feet as Eddie but who is really he's not as bad as people try to make out either

Just wondering where it leaves Trafford. I was and am fine with the young lad in goal. The howler vs Spurs would’ve happened to Donnarumma as well.
On a very good wage as back up playing in cups and when needed and getting the opportunity to learn from a top goalkeeper. The same as he would’ve been if Ederson hadn’t decided he was leaving.

2nd choice, as he would have been if Ederson was here. Plenty of cup games hopefully and if anything happens to Donnarumma, hes ready to step in.

I doubt Donnarumma makes that pass.

A new CM, Italian or otherwise, maybe on the way by Winter. Certainly given Gundogan and McAtee's summer departures...

He has a different brain and capable of making another decision, and it is impossible to have the exact same situation for 2 players.

I'm hoping he comes in as a CL winner and with a presence befitting someone of that lofty status. Someone who won't accept second best, excuses or bullshit from anyone in the dressing room and demands more from everyone. A leader on and off the pitch, willing to kick backsides and get in people's faces if they're not performing.

Bravo was a Pep keeper and he was shite. Onana was touted as ball-playing (Pep-like) keeper and he’s even worse. Eddie not only was/is the best Pep keeper, he’s also the only one around, that’s been consistently any fucking good. I’m all for staying as we are, if someone can genuinely find the next Eddie and not the next Bravo or Onana. I’m guessing that nobody at the club, including Pep, has managed to find this person, so we are going in a different direction. I’m ok with it. I’m guessing Pep is too.
Tbf this is the only opinion that makes sense. In Pep we trust.

Far too many players started putting their feet up. Few more need to go.

Legends or not.

Seen it with Kev, now Ederson. It is what it is. Players like Akanji were useful but we need players who have fire in their belly. The later didn’t want to play in the states.

Players too big for their boots, you ain’t to big to be booted out the door.

I have underestimated the rebuild.

The core is still good. We will be ok once it settles down

No point focusing on the RB. Need to stop buying alternatives and go after the best again.

Donna
Stones/dias
Gvardiol
Rodri
Haaland

Need Foden/cherki/ruddy to step up.

3 world class players away from properly stepping up again.

Start in Jan and let’s see can we land couple big players next couple windows.

Good competition for them both.

It’s the feet I worry about, pep’s system rely on a goalie being able to play to a certain standard with their feet. I just don’t understand how he thinks these two are capable of playing with their feet. Because we all know pep isn’t going to change how we play under any circumstances. Strange one for me.
Everyone obsessed with fucking feet…You’re all starting to sound like @BlueMoonRisin’

Onana is shite full stop, he’s not even a keeper never mind a pep one.

To me, managers sign players to suit their ideas and systems. With everything we know about pep and what type of goalie he likes then this is left field. Despite Donna being a fantastic shot stopper.

In pep we trust.
