Jack Grealish - Everton on loan

I think this is the main issue...

A lot of us see that Jack is the much better player and are confused why we continue to see Doku run out of bounds when Grealish is excelling at Everton, when we could have used him here, helping to keep possession and not turn it over and over and over
Everyone knows when Grealish is on it hes on a different level so it had to be down to his off field antics.

He’s a very, very good player as we saw in our treble winning season. Trouble is for whatever reason Pep hardly played him in his preferred central role so we didn’t always see him at his best. He has more freedom to play at Everton.

However even an out of position Grealish is more effective than Doku and Savinho in my opinion. At least he keeps the ball, controlling possession and winning free kicks.

Not disagreeing but last season he wasn’t.
Jack has been nothing special since his one very good season.
Even in that season his form dipped in the run in.
He played excellent against Real. Picked up an injury. Rested two weeks. Played okay-ish in the last two games - the finals because he still had that injury and took pain killers for the club.

FFS He has already left the club. There is no reason to point out him on about "form dipped in the run in". Plenty of other players played far worse than him in the CL final and I have never seen people pointing that out.

Just move on.

Grealish was a decent player. Never even close to a £100 million player, but decent.

What is a £100m player these days?

I think figures now are barely worth mentioning. There's so much money in the game that teams will just pay whatever it costs to get their target. It's not a true reflection of ability. The Grealish fee was the result of a release clause.

Liverpool just paid £130m for a striker that's 26 years old this month and never scored more than 27 goals in all competitions in a season in his career and may never.

Three decent passes and an over-hit cross and hes now a ballon D`or contender

Well nobody is saying he's a contender, that's your exaggeration.

He's clearly showing he is a very creative player. We shouldn't be too mad about it though, it's not like he would be doing it at city if he stayed this season.

Not really into stats or metrics when my eyes can tell me Grealish is a much much better footballer and winger than Doku.

I don't really know what ISO ball in the NBA has to do with Doku and his inability to stay in bounds. I honestly struggle to see anything Doku does better except run faster in a straight line... If you like the kick and rush, then I suppose it's a difference of opinion
That happened 2 games out of how many? Why are you coming up stuff that happened 2-3 times? Other players get the benefit of being injured or having some made up problems but Doku gets critics for anything he does? Again it has nothing to do with Kick and rush. He is just isolated and the NBA isolation thing was just a good comparison - that he has to do everything on his own

Not sure why Pep wanted him out but if it was on football alone he failed in what Pep wanted as indeed did everyone else in most positions this season.

In what is now cast as an adjustment season for City perhaps it would have been wiser to keep Jack to play the way he is doing for Everton until Pep finds the players that suit his style. Then sell him for what he can do for for non Pep teams.

The move has refreshed him after what seems a hard d18 months around the club (reason why. unkown), maybe he would have been refreshed here too, but to think he would have started dor in the role Moyes is playing him is daft.

Love Jack and wanted nothing but the best for him and hoped it would be here, sadly not so, just be happy he is enjoying the game again
