Well if he needed a team not as good as Leverkusen to get games (I don't think he does) then he probably isn't good enough to play for Argentina. As it is I thing he is good enough and will play for Levekusen, then it's up to him to prove he's good enough for us next season.

Agree with the second part, I'm hopeful too.
But getting regular playing time is not so straightforward for a loanee at a club aiming for top 4 of Bundesliga especially one which just fired a manager after 3 games. Also, playing regularly for a 'lesser' team and proving yourself against tough opposition is equally good way of showing you are 'good enough' for NT.

You can mention the other 2 but no point mentioning Messi in that. Hopefully it clicks under Pep for the other 2. Can’t say Pep hasn’t got the best out of Foden as he’s the only manager Phil has had(apart from boregate).

Have we seen the best of Foden? Shame if we have at his age. He had an unbelievable season a couple of years ago. I rate Foden that highly i still thought there was more to come. Not from a goal scoring point of view because that would take some beating but in his general play. One thing is clear that at 25 it is time for Foden to nail down a fairly set position now and kick on again.

Well, when Southgate got nothing out of him and Pep got player of the year, 19 non penalty league goals out of him then you can probably assume the bald man had something to do with it

Southgate is a clown. It's like he was setting Foden up to fail so Foden would get all the criticism. After the first couple of games at the EUROs, I wanted Foden to ask not to be selected for the team if he won't play him as the 10. In the final, he had Foden man-marking Rodri, what a clown.

Yeah, 'ruined' is a bit OTT, but I genuinely believed this dude was the next best thing. It was mostly from youth level games, but sometimes that's enough. When a player is so much better than his peers at youth level, you throw him into the big leagues and see if he sinks or swims. The genuinely good ones will swim. Yamal was playing for Spain under-17s a little over 6 months before he was one of the players of the tournament at EURO 2024. Pep was never going to give Echeverri any decent minutes last season because that's just not how Pep operates, and he's the greatest manager of all time, so who am I to criticize him?

What type of bullshit is that? Foden never had a good game for England it’s not the fault of the manager, Southgate or whoever y‘all claim it to be( the Bellinghams, rice, Sakas). He had plenty of games at the 10 and just didn’t deliver. Everyone‘s fault but foden‘s.

Maybe it's because the English players and manager were fucking shite..as long as Phil does it for us I couldn't give a toss about the England team.
 
Leverkusen v Eintracht Frankfurt is on now on BBC.

Once again Echeverri on the bench. There is no point him going on loan if he's not playing. There's a chance he might come on in the 2nd half. The standard of the football is not very good either. We play Leverkusen at some point. Although they are winning 2-0 at half-time, there does not seem much to fear.
 
Why the eff did we loan Echeverri out to Leverkusen? He would get more playing time with us.

Anyone who thinks we're anywhere near returning to our place at the top is being well beyond optimistic.

would he though? i am not sure.

maybe he just isn't at the level required for a top 4 european team yet.

to be fair to leverkusen, this kasper hjulmand's first game in charge. is he really going to put full faith in a 19 year old who hasn't started one game in europe yet?

echeverri wasn't even a regular when we signed him from river plate. he has a lot of development to do.

Top 4 team in any league.

He should have gone to a Mallorca, Osasuna, or a Wolfsburg in Germany.

He needed a mid-table team that was not going to be under threat of relegation but doesn't have massive pressure to chase trophies or Europe.

Like I said in previous post, Echeverri was barely a regular in River Plate, he was never going to go from that to top 4 team regular in Germany.
