Running thread

Cheers Gaz, East Cheshire Harriers are fairly close to me, so might be worth a trip next Tuesday for a bit of speed work. Will prob add some intervals into my shorter runs for the next couple of weeks as well, something like a 2km warm up 5x400 and a 2km slow finish seem sensible?
Yep 2k warm up and 5x400 is decent mate, as opposed to the 2.5k warm up and 10.x 800 I just failed miserably at with my mate, had to abandon ship at 5x 800 and leave him to it, in my defence this is the middle of the night in my running

Just spoke to me mate, the east Chesh is on the first week of the month so not every week, he says Hyde village striders do one as well that they put up on their Facebook, so might be worth looking into

I’m new to this running game, but don’t you need to take rest days?

Maybe for some and a good idea for muscle recovery especially long runs.
But I actually did 1000 days running during Covid and it was the best and fittest I felt, was a few tough days and some funny stories I could write a book about but it was a great challenge, was originally meant to be 1 year but I just carried on. Minimum 2 miles every day.

Personally, I can't run on two consecutive days as it takes too much out of my knees. Saying that, I'm 54 and my joints have seen better days!
I usually swim three times a week, run twice a week and have two recovery days, but I guess the key is knowing what your body can cope with.

Match is on Sunday this weekend, so choice of Parkrun venue to choose. I am currently at the 30 mins for 5k distance.

Which parkrun are people thinking of running this weekend ?

Has anyone entered the Knutsford 10k at the end of the month ?

I'm running Knutsford, supposed to be a fast one I believe, aiming for it to be my first sub 40 (and some hopefully).
