Charlie Kirk shot dead at Utah university

He supported guns, of course he is going to defend them, saying the postives (presumably self-defense) outweigh the negatives. I don't believe in guns, so I disagree, but I don't think it means he supports the deaths. It's like saying people who have an issue with the police want more murders. Context matters. It's okay to disagree with someone, there is no need to attack them personally.

Finally, I don't know what primitive views on race you are referring to, but I have seen him interacting with people of all races/religions and never seen him personally attacking anyone physically or verbally, contrary to some who attacked him. He might have attacked an ideology, that's not unheard of, we all do it, I see it a lot in this thread. I believe he has mentioned crime vs race statistics, which doesn't make him a racist. Him not liking aspects of certain religions doesn't make him a bad person. Most people have views on religion, a lot of it negative, on all sorts of religions.

He had his biases, we all have some.
You've contrived to not answer my question. I asked how do you contextualise deaths being a good thing to preserve the second amendment as anything other than repulsive? So contextualise it for me, what am I missing? I don't doubt he was a defender of gun usage, that's not the issue I addressed. There will be millions of second amendment proponents in the US and the vast majority wouldn't go round saying deaths are necessary. It's a callous thing to say given the history of school shootings in that country. He said these things to be provocative, that was his currency. It simultaneously enriched and endangered his life, as has tragically come to bear.

Everything that needs to be said has been said and quite a lot that shouldn’t have been said, not least by Trump.
I am at a loss as to where America can go now.
One thing we can be certain of, they will do nothing about their nonsensical gun laws.

At least he is famous now, as no one had heard of him until yesterday.

Dead famous I suppose, but just for one day.

I don't think he has ever said deaths are a good thing.

I just don't think expressing any opinion should endanger his or anybody's life. We need some boundaries somewhere. We can't justify death just because someone occasionally said something stupid or irresponsible. We all did. If a woman walks home at night in a miniskirt through a dark alley, it's putting her at risk, but it doesn't mean it's her fault if she gets raped. We can't allow victim blaming.

People will believe what they want to believe. That's okay. Some believe City are scum, some believe United are Scum, some believe Liverpool are scum, and some believe we are all scum. I naively believed that this will be some common ground like let's all condemn violence and say this is a despicable crime. For me, murder is always wrong. We shouldn't be debating whether it's justified. For me, that's horrible.

Through the activation of your little grey cells? Here's a little help

But you’re the one saying that the presenter needs to do the bible study aren’t you? That makes no sense, you’re actually countering Kirk’s interpretation, why are you bringing him into it?

You’ve also linked to the wrong passage.

@Haaland94 im still waiting for at least one

@Haaland94 im still waiting.
Family is important, let's all work hard to make the country better, free speech is important, let's be harsher on criminals, religion as a tool to help people (I am not religious, but I like the idea). I don't know all his ideas, I think most here don't by the sounds of it(don't see people here that actually watched a lot of his videos).

For me, you can like him or hate him, I didn't particularly care about him until today, but it was quite eye-opening for me to see some people cheering his death. That's a line I would never cross.

Leviticus 20 - If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

Leviticus 18 - Blah blah abomination.

Not about gays though.

The wider point mate is that if you murder someone for their political views you're a **** and if you support that murder you're a ****.

From Lincoln to MLK to this young lad if you support any one of those murders you're an unfit human being.

Agreed.

With that said, one doesn't have to feel empathy for someone who hated you being the target of the particular hate.

And why would Steven Hawking ever need to boast about his IQ? Which was never in doubt.
But what if it had always been there, and doubted by some, who were subsequently proved to be manifestly wrong; then maybe that deserves a boast. In order to put those people straight.
On what planet does that chain of events make you a loser?
In the 60s long before my brain atrophied to its current condition - I scored over 130 in an IQ test research project run by my university biology department. The next week got a invite to apply for the Army Intelligence Corps via my tutor... turns out they were recruiting for postings in Ireland !! Pretty sure if I'd followed it through I wouldn't be here now.

I have no opinion about Kirk, as I have never seen any of his stuff. But I can’t accept his murder as normal.

Have you seen any rape statistics recently? I don't know about you, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's not safe out there for women. Nice try taking it out of context, though.
