He supported guns, of course he is going to defend them, saying the postives (presumably self-defense) outweigh the negatives. I don't believe in guns, so I disagree, but I don't think it means he supports the deaths. It's like saying people who have an issue with the police want more murders. Context matters. It's okay to disagree with someone, there is no need to attack them personally.
Finally, I don't know what primitive views on race you are referring to, but I have seen him interacting with people of all races/religions and never seen him personally attacking anyone physically or verbally, contrary to some who attacked him. He might have attacked an ideology, that's not unheard of, we all do it, I see it a lot in this thread. I believe he has mentioned crime vs race statistics, which doesn't make him a racist. Him not liking aspects of certain religions doesn't make him a bad person. Most people have views on religion, a lot of it negative, on all sorts of religions.
He had his biases, we all have some.
