The funny thing is I’m not sure we would have been given that penalty whereas I knew the ref would instantly give them it.But they barely created anything, resorted to long range shots.

So what should they do? Just let hand ball go unpunished?
Just give an indirect free kick unless it is indisputably intentional like Suarez clearing off the line (the kind of handballs that today justify a red).
Would be much more sensible than giving a penalty because the ball has ricocheted and accidentally brushed off somebody’s little finger 6 inches into the corner of the box.

Id go along with that. Problem is you can't trust refs to use their own discretion on what is a blatant pen and which is a free kick. They'd still get it wrong and favour certain sides
