9/11 where were you?

I had gone to criccieth in north wales to pick up my mum and dads touring caravan (dad couldnt drive anymore so I used to move it for them) & called in at the office to have a chat with the site manager, him & his family were all sat watching the TV and hardly noticed me & I had no idea what was going on so I drove home completely oblivious to what had happened.

I remember it like yesterday; I picked up an American colleague from Heathrow, he’d flown in from Newark overnight! Had a few meetings arranged in London & went for a coffee on Shaftesbury Ave before our first one - his phone was going mental with calls/messages as we then watched it unfold on TV in a customers showroom. London was completely in disbelief, then terror & sirens going off - very scary! We still drop each other a message on the anniversary, though I’ve moved on to another company!

I can remember precisely where I was when I heard the news. I am pleading the 5th.

It was my 30th birthday and was 10 pin bowling in Parrs Wood. It was on the screens and saw the horror unfold.

At work in Old Trafford. Somehow we heard about it and went into the board room to watch the events unfolding on the TV.

Working in the centre of Manchester and news spread like wildfire across the office. Finished at 4pm and a Telly was on in the cafe in Debenhams - people had stopped and were looking stunned at the scene in lower Manhattan in utter silence.

Ive been lucky enough to travel to NYC many times, have friends there and had been to the Observatory in Two World Trade a few times so it shook me to the core. The Manhattan skyline still looks odd to me without the Towers at the lower end.

The book "102 Minutes" by Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn is a must read to learn about the layout of the Towers and the human stories of that day. Id recommend it.

I was in school, and it was on the news as i got home. My mum rushed me in to watch on the TV. Think the second plane had just hit
