The Labour Government

“I’m angry because a massively complicated problem that’s been growing for 15 years hasn’t been solved in 1, despite the opposition parties having no solution either”
Has the penny dropped with people that we cannot deport people as we like whilst the ECHR has legal jurisdiction over us? Yes.

Have we left the ECHR yet? No. Why not? Because the current government (and those that went before it) lack the balls to do so.

Once we've left it, suspended our membership, passed UK laws to allow us to ignore it, or whatever... Then we can start tackling the problem.

So you keep saying, but when immigrants say in Calais that no deterrent would stop them attempting to cross in boats, it’s not as black and white as you seem to think it is

I'm not so sure Farage has that many fans. What he does have is millions of people thinking "I'm never voting Tory or Labour ever again". (And the LibDems are a waste of time, and the Greens are insane).

That's effectively the boat I am in. I will vote for any right wing party that will kick Labour out. Unfortunately, Reform is the only option.
Thought you were considering voting for Ben Habib’s fascist party now featuring Tommy Robinson?

Thanks for replying to a post that is irrelevant to what you just said.

May as well have put you like cheese

With you probably babybel

And yet less than 20% of the population want us to leave the european convention on human rights.

It's almost like it's been fundamental for a bunch of significant advances the UK public think is worthwhile, like freedom of the press, people being allowed to be gay, the human rights act, peace in NI etc.

Christ, imagine thinking Nigel Farage and Richard Tice should be given responsibility for rewriting the human rights act, the good friday agreement etc. Hard to imagine anyone less suitable or trustworthy.

It’s fallen because we are measuring relative to the post-Covid Boriswave. Remove that couple of years of the Boriswave period and it’s at an all time high, after years and years of the electorate clearly signalling they want it right down.

Keep bringing in net 400k a year and complaining about the rise of the far right. It’s fucking mental!!
So it's an all time high except when it's not an all time high.

Ah the migration has fallen crappy argument. Okay this immigration kerfuffle has been going on years maybe decades but let's condense the nonsense of this argument

Man A kicks Man B in bollocks 10 times a day. Man C watches on and thinks there is a lot of bollock kicking going on.

Man A promises to only kick Man B in bollocks 3 times a day.

However not only does Man A not do this he kicks him even more 12 14 17 26 times. Now a crowd gathers also concerned at the damage to Man B's testicles and begin shouting at Man A.

Okay okay calm down I will sort it tomorrow I promise. Next day he kicks Man B 13 times in the bollocks. The crowd still think it's a bit out of order except a couple who rejoice cause their fucking stupid or just like to see a lot of bollock kicking.

Bollocks

You might thing it's a great idea to hand our sovereignty over to some unelected people in other countries. I do not, and I don't think the British public are either, if the poll question is worded in a non-partisan way.

If he can win, I will. That looks impossibly unlikely however.

I'd far rather vote for Ben Habib than Nigel Farage. Ben is a man of principle who is not afraid to say what he believes. Farage is not.

And btw, Advance UK does not "feature Tommy Robinson". TR has merely joined the party (as have I) not in any formal capacity. He's just one member of 30,000+ signed up members.

Impressive how much bullshit there is in a short comment.

- Lie about the ECHR handing over sovereignity.
- Falsely assuming a poll must be partisanly worded because you don't like the results.

It's impressively rapid fire, but you're not fooling anyone with it.

Are Yaxley’s mates Lozza, Katie and Ant members as well?

You really have slid down the gutter of extreme far right, sad.

Ah, so the ECHR is not an obstacle to us deporting people and our courts can do what they like. Have a word with the government then because clearly they don't know this.

Are Yaxley’s mates Lozza, Katie and Ant members as well?
No idea. Why don't you ask them if you're interested.

Of course we can deport people if we want to.
This is a solution in need of a problem which can be addressed in a variety of different ways.

The first thing we'd need to do, should we be serious about leaving the ECHR, is to get a written constitution in place, which would safeguard our rights.
No ECHR effectively equals an elected dictatorship and, considering the quality of politician on show, is not something I would welcome.

Denmark and Sweden have managed significant reductions without leaving the ECHR, and our problem seems to be Article 8 which we could derogate, if we're facing an 'influx', as is described.

The UK could then be at the forefront of reform of the UK, of which there has never been a greater appetite across Europe, rather than taking the Brexit approach of saying 'we are off'.

Finally, whilst proponents of leaving the ECHR will tell you 'we managed for years before the ECHR' and that is, in some ways, true, the real danger is when there is rhetoric and panic similar to today.

In the 70's Lord Scarman said:

“When times are normal and fear is not stalking the land, English law sturdily protects the freedom of the individual ... But when times are abnormally alive with fear and prejudice, the common law cannot resist the will, however frightened and prejudiced it may be, of parliament.”

What’s Labours?

Voters were assured that the mess created during the Tories reign would be sorted as they had the answers.

“Smash the gangs” was one of them.

It’s pretty evident they too were bullshitting and they have no plan or actions that will work so where do people look for answers to what is evidently given all the polls one of the biggest issues for the electorate right now?

Shouting down has worked for years but it’s not working any longer and many have had enough of lies from politicians and the sneering from many to the left who want to pretend it’s not an issue.
I think what he is saying is just keep believing lying politicians coz you know.......

Oooooh look a fluffy cloud
