That was rumoured in the summer. Think it’s a rehash - Nico here to stay. Been a bright spot this season. Think he will take some shifting from left back now. Physicality very very useful as well as his technical ability. Hopefully he flourishes with us.

100% on everything you have said.

I think the only caveat is the number of games, and the probable realisation that a slightly larger squad of players given regular minutes is the way forward. There will be times when Nico is rested, and Nathan and Ait-Nouri pick up his baton.
 
We would be stupid to create new problems at LB shifting our top performing O`Reilly to midfield when Rodri is improving while Kova and Cherki will come back at some point.

O`Reillly is exactly what I want at LB, closing our left side.
Only in matches where we can afford more risk I would play Ait Nouri.

pep going to play ait nouri the moment he gets back. He likes technical left backs.

Ait Nouri is an excellent player, of course, but I think this is a year that the squad is used.
For example, people were complaining that Khus wasn't playing.
There are a lot of games coming up.

He was very good defensively in the wolves game I thought
 
Improving so quickly-you can see his confidence growing with each game. Some talent.
 
Love his increasing confidence in his own physicality. A lad his size has to use that to their advantage and he is beginning to do so and bully smaller opponents. Excellent to see.

Had to score, no getting around it. It was a really poor finish, completely telegraphed what he was going to do. He is far from the only one, infact almost the entire squad is guilty of this but he had to use his weaker foot for an easy goal. Seem to remember him being guilty of the same thing in the cup final too. Something to work on.

I thought the keeper was out on him quickly and all he could do was try and chip it, it was just that the keeper made a good save. The chip didn't look bad to me to be honest

Cant agree with that, could tell from a mile off he was going to attempt to chip it with a bit of outside spin on this left foot and had no intention of using his right for a simple side foot finish.

I hope Alvarez doesn’t go to Liverpool he is quality, scored another 3 for Athletico lastnight, the last goal was a worldly!

I still can’t believe we let him go, don’t know the ins and outs of why he did go but if it was his own personal decision to go fair enough.

Right now he is one of the best forwards in the world in my opinion.

If he leaves Atletico, then it shows that he is not a player who can be counted on as a long-term option. He doesn't have to explain himself to anyone, but he is now the main man, so that reason for leaving us cannot be the explanation for leaving Atletico. Factually, he would not be playing ahead of Erling, and he did not have the control to be a midfielder, though he may with the more direct approach we will sometimes now adopt.
 
My favourite player at the moment.
Doesn’t panic
Strong
Bags of skill
Reading of the game improves each time he plays.
I hope he does not settle for being a left back as he is far too good for that.
He is better than some of the players currently getting picked in midfield for the England team in my opinion
