Dundee school obtain tickets for Liverpool game

City tickets for City fans is the order of things surely. The fact people are arguing that kids from another country deserve to go more than City fans is typical of todays confusion about what is right and wrong.

I feel for the kids but I feel more for my m8s who can only afford 2 or 3 games and have to pay their hard earned £80 to watch us playing Burnley or Bury, with a shit view from the top corner. They would be so much louder and so much prouder.

Encourage support in Scotland through a private school? But not local school kids from greater Manchester.

I get it for lesser games, cup games, but Liverpool at home? Really?

Poorer children don't have the money for the club shop, I don't even know if these people visit the club shop it's just really a guess.

local legacy fans need 3 forms of current ID yet someone north of the border just has to flash an old school tie and they're in ;-)

Let them come for a lesser game that won’t sell out.

You can’t manufacture support. If they were all begging to come that’s one thing.

If they are invited to come because the club thinks they are from privileged backgrounds and will spend more in the shop that’s another.
I agree, it's an odd one.

IF ??

This is a genuine letter???

All looks too much like the Newcastle situation??!!

Very Doubtful!!

IF, you read the contents the Tickets ARE NOT FREE!!!

Supposedly purchased from The Manchester City Group Ticketing Department??

But they again Money Talks, so at this moment, who knows??!!

Oh I remember at school being offered regular tickets to local teams to watch them.

Been to watch England under 17s etc play at Stockport County in the past when in school.

It works and it should, be nicer if its focus was on local kids more than out of towners
100%. Why are we giving tickets to Scottish kids who, let's be honest, are highly unlikely to be attending many matches at the Etihad? I'm sure there's plenty of kids in the Manchester area who would love the opportunity to go to that game. And who are more likely (no guarantees, obviously) to come again and see future games.

Dundee United used to be known as The Arabs . Could there be a connection ...?

In all seriousness this is more likely someone high up in the school who has connections . It's a private school , not Dialstone Lane Secondary Modern .

Unless this is all a hoax . Quite likely ...

DIO. Dundee United is my Scottish team . Family is from Dundee .

Oh I agree 100% with it, the club wont do anything about it mind you

I think this would be a great thing to offer to schools in the Greater Manchester area, in an effort to secure the future generation of fans, particularly where parents possibly can't afford to take their kids given the cost of both memberships and match tickets.

Coach tours from Dundee though?

I'd imagine the Liverpool game would easily sell itself out twice over so it seems a strange choice of game. Why not do such trips for less attractive games, especially midweek ones?
The club already does this with local schools.

Hit the nail on the head CHB. What's the logic/justification for this? Would the club really prefer rich people from Scotland coming to games rather than not rich Mancs? If so, wtf is going on?

You’re right about local schools. My two kids went to Romiley Primary School, as far as I’m aware not once did City come to the school. The rags came regularly, doing coaching sessions and giving tickets away for games.

lol, well the odd email to the fella who runs their Computing dept might establish that quite quickly!

I've no issue with kid's tour groups being brought to a premier league game, great experience for them.
However why do they always seem to be in big clusters at huge games like Arsenal, United, Liverpool and Real Madrid.? Wearing their own branded gear, barely if at all interested in City, often leaving early as a group leaving huge gaps in the north stand, and often openly supporting our opposition.
We don't need any help selling out those games. Surely offering lots of coach tours to kids for the games like Burnley makes sense, but filling your big rival clashes with genuine, passionate and vocal (not necessarily local) blues is a better option?

Its apparently the exact same school that had tickets for Newcastle v Barcelona
