What on earth are they thinking??? They're absolutely toast and they're only 1 year in.
There was a great deal not mentioned before Labour 'won' the election.I’ve read it’s going to cost billions. At the same time as all of our bills going up and cuts to lots of public services.
Was this ever mentioned when labour were campaigning before the election?
But they’re supposed to check now, that a person has the right to work here. An undocumented ‘illegal’ working for £1.25 an hour will still be a tempter for some (and we’ll all be working for that, once Nigel has thrown them all out)…
Exactly, they want to pass through all countries with ID card to get to UK where it is much easier.Do Id cards help France with illegal immigrants or stopping them?
It doesn’t seem to have done anything to stop huge amounts of people entering France illegally or working illegally
As I said previously for some it isn't about ID it's about chosing to have one over being mandated.I can't get my head around people arguing its un-British who also moan when they have to take 2 utility bills in their name to the Post Office to obtain a small loan yet those same people spill loads of personal info to Pornhub so they can watch mucky movies - I mean I know I trust the DVLA with my data ref driving more than I would some overseas dodgy platform.
It won’t have any effect at all on illegal workers and criminal gangs. It's another dent to illegal workers and criminal gangs, its not a major deal. we just now live in a time where everyone has to be outraged by any government decision.
You haven't thought that through have you?Exactly, they want to pass through all countries with ID card to get to UK where it is much easier.
I don't see why it matters because what will it do that current forms of ID don't already do? You can't get a job without a form of ID so it's already effectively mandatory. It's another dent to illegal workers and criminal gangs, its not a major deal. we just now live in a time where everyone has to be outraged by any government decision.
I've worked on government ID products and to share personal information across departments can be very tricky, as you have to have a data sharing agreement in place and those aren't easy to negotiate.Sharing data with private companies may not be compulsory but it is near impossible to avoid.
Like I said earlier, I want to find out more information before forming an opinion. What information do you not want to share with Govt? Any different types of data you do not want to be available in one place?
Try getting out of bed again mate!Surprise, Surprise, all the lefties on here are all in favour of this ID card..any who aren't?
I will be outraged when I am stopped by the police and have committed an offence automatically by not having my ID card. Like my license I will haver to produce it, if I do not I will have to attend a police station. It's another dent to illegal workers and criminal gangs, its not a major deal. we just now live in a time where everyone has to be outraged by any government decision.

Are governments not allowed to think on their feet and adapt policies to developing situations?I’ve read it’s going to cost billions. At the same time as all of our bills going up and cuts to lots of public services.

someone using a website, be it porn or argos have chosen to. have potential data collecting or tracking.
I have 3 forms of Photo ID, my passport, alcohol lIscence and work ID, I carry 2 arpund with me weekdays and one all the time as is required, I don't need another form of ID
Make it voluntary and it will be recieved better or for anyone with citizenship a choice and compulsary for people waiting on approval to remain or on short term visa such. as student or work ones
It might help if all employers followed the rules but the ones who don't now will continue regardless. Having the law is stage one, enforcing it is the trick. It's against the law to shoplift isn't it?it will. This will make it much much more difficult for individuals without legal status to gain employment.
All working adults will be required to present a digital ID when starting a new job. This ID will be linked to a central database.
