Former UFO guitarist/Keyboards Neil Carter there too. A big improvement on last few UFO albums to be sure ...

Well a bit contrarian but some of my favourite UFO albums were the Neil Carter ones,especially The wild the willing and the innocent. He takes a lot of lead on this though, who knew he had that in him.
 
Been to see him in Wolverhampton tonight on his Farewell tour.
A highlight was a full rendition of Plague of Ghosts, of which this is one of the most special parts:

 
Just discovered this Rush recording.

Motherlode stuff for me, as I’ve been searching for full video shows from the p/g and Power Windows tours for ever. So, so rare.
In terms of set list these tours were peak stuff for me, though I enjoy later and earlier too.
Tempos a bit quicker give some of the tracks real urgency over the studio versions.

So much to enjoy. Peart on the last minutes of Subdivisions, the finale tracks, Alex soloing on Between The Wheels are just a few of many highlights.
The audience reaction to the lasers is a bit ott (!), but then I guess in 84 this was cutting edge stuff not seen that much before in live shows.

Rush were one the best live bands I’ve ever seen along with Def Leppard and Styx for sheer professionalism.
On another topic - listening to “Life in the Wires” by Frost atm.
Industrial Prog anyone. Double album, lots to like even though it feels like a jam session on times. John Mitchell in prime shredding mode.
 
I’m a bit choosy with my Foreigner, but for the quality of the playing and the set list, for me this tour was the peak.
At the time this was issued as a live radio broadcast, which was duly taped and hammered like hell.

Never mind run for the hills it’s run to the hills on bbc2 tonight, with some excellent Maiden content.
I’ve seen it before but the 666 documentary, though it’s a bit repetitive, is a great snapshot of them from 2008, and the tracks are pretty special.

Must admit after the last time at the MEN/AO Arena a couple of years back I said I wouldn’t bother with them live anymore, but fair play if they feel they can still get out there. I think they’ve lost too much of what made them what they were (like AC/DC and countless others, including Leppard the other night - also on the much maligned bbc), but if they wanna do it and some fans still wanna turn out, good luck to them.

Just been looking them up on your recommendation pal - I can’t see a track called Telling You listed on the Picture album? Is it on a different album?
