Classic Rock (Phil Collins lives, run for the hills)

For those delving into later Yes ...

3 of my all-time top 20:-

John Hiatt
Bruce Hornsby
The Hooters

The Hooters played at the Philadephia leg of Live Aid, as they were local favourites, but I saw them at Manchester Uni in 1988 playing to a crowd of 200 or so. Absolutely brilliant show.
Love John Hiatt, ’Walk on ‘ is one of my favourite albums
Saw him solo at the Academy in 1997 excellent
also saw Bruce Hornsby at the Apollo
I think I’ve only heard Satellite by the Hooters so I’ll definitely be checking them out.

Yes I love Walk On and Crossing Muddy Waters but my favourite John Hiatt is Slow Turning.

Saw Bruce Hornsby 3 times at the Apollo. He is fantastic live.

I think as a fellow Lonesome Jubilee fan, you'd enjoy One Way Home by The Hooters.

As Rush were the cause of this thread I’ll put this here
Now this is a half time show. The Ohio Stae University marching band Rush tribute

A to Z of Classic Rock.
The Letter I

Only one band really in the mix for me and that is Cumbria’s finest It Bites.
They first appeared like a breath of fresh air with their prog leaning pop songs. Then their second album Once around the World exploded the myth they were a boy band with instruments. The title track of this second album is wonderful.
Francis Dunnery was superb and i also love the two John Mitchell led later releases.

also a nod to Iron Maiden although I only own Number of the Beast.

Iron Butterfly
Iced Earth
Indigo Girl
Inxs
IQ

ICICLE WORKS .... a favourite of mine.

Fairly slim pickings for the letter ‘i’ in my collection.

I’ve included Ice-T because he does like to rock at times.

In Classic Rock terms, Maiden are the big beast here but although I have several albums of theirs, they have never been that high on my list of favoured acts.

Billy Idol and Inxs both made very good albums at their peaks, which were short lived (no pun intended).

Tony Iommi’s solo work pales in comparison to his Black Sabbath oeuvre.
