26 | Savinho - 2025/26

His attempt at tracking back for the Burnley goal yesterday was pathetic and the kind of thing Pep will go ballistic about. He’s barely jogging towards our goal while their LB blows past him and sets up the goal.

Stuff like that is why I don’t have much patience for him on the attacking side. If you’re not in amazing form, goals aren’t coming etc that’s one thing, but the least you can do is run for the team.

It's interesting in the press conference that Pep praised his work ethic. You can only assume that he means Savinho is putting in the hours in training to work on his game because his energy pressing and tracking back on the pitch are poor.

He's better down the left though he cam be a threat if someone makes an overlapping run with the through balls he can play.

Pretty average v Burnley and his lack of pressing allowed Eze ages abd acres to play that ball at Arsenal. Must work harder.

He's one of those players who You can just tell is more concerned in working out how how he is going to land (and roll around) when he can see a player running at Him, rather than how to stay on his feet and skin them and keep going, just can't warm to it at all.

It seems he doesn’t have the speed for the play he wants to play.
I think he definitely has enough pace as in his burst of pace to play his way. He’s got similar technique to Mahrez and is much quicker. Granted Mahrez’s shooting was on a different level but i fully expect his shooting to improve. Got time on his side to fulfill his potential but needs a run and people to get off his back. He played alright yesterday in a first half when our only very good player was Doku. He was getting slated on here though.

Wouldn't be surprised if Savinho significantly improved over the next month and put in some really good performances. Imo, by November he will be good.

Doku looked lost before the international break. Take a look at his thread. This thread is the same. People jumping to negative conclusions.

He's got every attribute to be an incredible player. Need to just let Lijnders work with him, there was glimpses yesterday of Girona Savinho with his taking on of the full back, just he takes the safe option to much, Doku did the same would take the safe option but this season Doku is taking risk every time and its paying off. Savinho needs to do the same and we will have a player.

He had a 1v1 a couple of times yesterday but instead he chose to pass back and recycle possession where as on the other wing Doku took every opportunity of a 1v1 on. Might be a confidence issue

As soon as he gets a good run of matches, rhythm and confidence, he'll be great. Just like Doku.

Then the boo boys will move onto someone else.

He has to work harder OOP and he was at fault on their goal. Doesn’t excuse him and he did not make the first mistake in giving the ball away cheaply in our half but we were a bit unlucky because the shot took a huge deflection when Dias tried to block it that completely took The Don out of the picture.

I’d much rather fuck him off than have him sign an extension. He’s done nothing to warrant a better deal between joining us and now - his agent has obviously got us by the bollocks because we rejected bids for him.

Just don’t see it. He does one good thing every now and again but for the majority he’s safe on the ball and lazy off it. Compare to Bobb who came on, got in a goalscoring position and was more aggressive when he had the ball and in his press.

He waves his arms at the crowd more than he does good things on the ball.
Terribly lazy off the ball. That's my main issue with him. Effort doesn't require form.

Could not agree more...

Still early to write off, but he also needs a run of games. Another one that does better on the left than right.

Due to the pressure, impatience of elite level football and its fans this was a game i expected him to put in an" up yours im better than you think performance", he didn't but time is on his side and the progress of Doku a marker for him , us.

For now id happily have seen him in a Spurs shirt with £60m to spend!
