"the boat people" are asylum seekers not illegal immigrants. Their would change to illegal if their applicatio for asylum is unsuccessful

If you genuinely want to see lower immigration, then it has to be in legal immigration, because while boat crossings get all the headlines, they are absolutely fuck all in the grand scheme of things.

Start with properly funding our universities so they don't have to bring hundreds of thousands of students over every year to make up the budget. Don't allow students to sponsor dependents (). Get rid of graduate visa schemes that allow graduates to stay in the country no questions asked, which increases the number of students coming over who are just using it as a way to get permanent settled status. And ironically, make it far easier for EU nationals to come over and do a bit of temporary work, and you'll get far more of the sorts of immigrants who spend a bit of their working life in the UK and then go home again.

These are all things we could do if we were capable of having a proper conversation about it rather than focusing on a handful of cases and acting like they're significant.

Is not it illegal to land in Britain without a valid passport or correct identity.... ergo they're illegal immigrants, unlike those that do travel here with valid passports and then claim asylum who are asylum seekers.

They are not all the same.

I have a few ideas, but fuck me I'm not engaging with a man frightened to come out of his virtue bubble.

If there were an election tomorrow Farage would get in, that would be a tragedy for this country, but my conscious is clear, I didn't bring us to this impasse, I doubt you could say the same.

In my mind, you’re totally overthinking it.

Most people don’t think the way you do. They’re far more simplistic.

They’re pissed iff because they’re feeling less and less well off despite paying more. If you change that, the rest disappears.

They’re not at home trying to work out what being zEnglish actually is and looking to the dark ages to see what these lost.

Get a government investing in the country. For me, in tidal energy. Massively. Develop the technology and licence it around the world, whilst creating cheap energy that means household bills decrease as well as bills for businesses, meaning prices can fall.


By all means carry on with the “what actually is being English” if you want, but I really am not arsed.

Energy prices are falling but we still see our bills rising. We pay some of the highest prices in Europe can you explain why? We are ripped off in this country at every opportunity and no regulators lift a finger

We have conflating laws due to the conservatives implementing the illegal migration act.

Both are asylum seekers still.
