Hobbies for the middle aged man

Did you get it ?
annoyingly, no. I did a max bid of 180 and it went for 180 - thought I had won, but looks like someone else did the same max bid before me! Now I think 185 would have done it... But there'll be more, half the fun is finding it and for me price is a big factor, not sure I'd be too chuffed if it was say 300, which still may be a bargain for an original antique, but I'm a tightwad ;),

So to make up for it, I bought an old fireplace for £50 to use as a fire pit in the garden 1759153190246.jpeg

Fly fishing - very relaxing and absorbing at the same time -you are constantly on the move, usually in beautiful environments.

Radio control aero modelling / flying - consumes vast amounts of time if you build your own ... when flying model as per fly fishing - usually in beautiful environments
Is that you, J.R. Hartley?

I think hobbies are so underrated for mental health! I recently grabbed a few tools from Vevor for my woodworking projects after reading vevor reviews , and it’s been incredibly satisfying. It’s a great way to stay engaged, productive, and challenge yourself. Even small wins in a hobby can really boost your mood and give you something to look forward to each week.

cool catch!
It was taken from an old cottage allegedly, they wanted a wood burner not an open fire - got to be Victorian at a guess - but came with a chimney! I reckon the backplate would be at least £200 to replace. Sadly, forgot about the string of lights so maybe on the wall for display, but pull the grate out for use (pic is just on a pile of spare patio blocks for now). Although the dummy is wearing a Cabasset-Morion I got from a car boot for £5 ;) My garden is small but interesting!

Just picked up another 1982 Honda Express... a chicken chaser....got her running and then stripped her down, now comes the interesting bit of cleaning, polishing and re spraying and putting her all back together.
No tax, no mot and £80 a year insurance for larking around on.
Got any pics?

The ancient and noble art of Toxophily. Stand in a field in all weathers with a bent stick and a piece of string and try and send a (hopefully) straight stick into a circle the size of a saucer 50 yards away, and become angered and stressed when some of them don't hit

Aim at Frenchmen instead.

There's a lot going on in that picture.

Is that in homage to the late great wall at Piccadilly gardens?
