I recall seeing stats of a decline in performances from most teams who've played a midweek CL game, so it comes as no surprise that our second half performance against Brentford seriously dipped & why we setup & played as we did against Arsenal. 4 points from two away games is a decent PL return.Usually? I thought, before last year we've been relentless from New Year on?
Pep, on the other hand, isn't in transition so can we all reserve the right to comment upon his substitutions and the timing of them?
As for Pep, he put himself & more importantly Manchester City in this situation. For whatever reason, he delayed our succession planning & squad rebuild, which has seriously set us back.
The club have evidently responded by effectively sacking Pep's coaching team & giving Hugo carte blanche to do as he sees fit, hence Soriano rejecting Spud's overture for Savinho, & extending his contract, as confirmed by Guardiola last week.
Join the dots mate. These things are beyond coincidence. As it stands, we're paying the cost for what Pep admitted was effectively his negligence in rebuilding our squad, when it was clearly obvious it was needed after the treble.
