This is the first item in the PL's own statement of principles for clubs. So when eight fellow clubs sent a letter to the Court of Administration for Sport demanding we should be thrown out of Europe even before the Judges had made their ruling it was a breach of the PL's own code. I mean how unethical is it for a group of clubs to condemn a fellow member before the case has even been completed? How did this behaviour "reflect positively on the image of the Premier League." Of course the Judges treated this letter with the contempt it deserved. And just before this "hateful eight" letter was publically revealed some of those club Directors gave poisonous private brefings to their pals in the media. So did Masters sanction any of these clubs who tried to predjudice City's defence in the middle of a legal hearing? We all know the answer.

Are you sure that's right mate? I understood they wrote to CAS asking that the decision wasn't delayed into the upcoming season because of the obvious impact that would have on those clubs potential EUFA competition participation

  • Manchester City had been given a two-year ban from European competition by UEFA (the European football governing body) for alleged “serious breaches” of its financial fair play / club licensing regulations. The Guardian+1
  • City appealed the ban to CAS. Sky Sports+1
  • During that appeal process, nine Premier League clubs (including Arsenal) wrote to CAS asking for the ban not to be suspended while the appeal was heard. In other words: they wanted the ban to remain in effect (or at least not put on hold) until the appeal outcome.


City insisted on a quick resolve from CAS so it came to nothing anyway.

The Spiteful Nine!

When you think back to the original letter to the PL, voting for FFP, the letter to the CAS, voting for PSR… the only big club who’ve aligned with what we have throughout is Aston Villa.

Everyone else has either been opposing our views, in support of rule changes to stop us or actively out to see us punished whether we were guilty of anything or not. Even fucking Burnley were at it!

Everything with that club seems to get swept under the carpet.

They were fined just £265 (I haven’t missed off an ‘m’ at the end there, it was two-hundred and sixty-five pounds!) for tapping up Griezmann.

What I find incredible is just how gullible people ( other fans and bystanders) are now when confronted with lies. They too easily adopt a view offered by opinion not fact it's pretty embarrassing.

The "Smaller" teams in the pyramid follow suit because they get paid well and have never had it so good, if the pyramid falls they fall with it.

Unfortunately this isn't even news at this stage.
There are reports weekly on the financial plight of Barcelona going back months.
I was wondering what is the situation if Leeds were struggling to satisfy FFP but were owed millions from Barcelona for Raphinha?

Most of those debts will be due to agreed payment schedule for a player. If they missed a payment when it was due, they would be banned from new transfers till it was paid off.
What happens to ffp if a payment is missed, I’m not sure but I think the due sum would be accounted for in the calculation.

I was thinking along those lines.
I'm surprised some team hasn't kicked up a stink about being owed money.
