Just a couple of social media claims at the moment, although ChatGPT seems to think that 95% is a suspiciously large figure. I'm fairly certain that we don't have a cash flow issue either, so can't see why we'd do that.

We know for a fact that Liverpool did do that to some extent with Coutinho because it's apparently mentioned in Barcelona's accounts.

Given the risk (UEFA football creditor rules) and current interest rates, I reckon it cost 5-6%pa to do so. It won't be far out. Whilst City likely don't have cashflow issues, like any business they look to use the balance sheet efficiently.
