There has no been no public comment in support of these plans from any supporters group at any stage be it the OSC, Citymatters, 1894 or any of the many other groups. That tells its own story. They have been in the room with the club and know it’s a stitch up. They know the blue wall was something Khaldoon said at the time but probably never meant. This post absolutely nails it. It’s not only the best chance, it’s the only chance.
We have 2 groups of around 1000 singers. Vociferous away fans drown out each group and they don’t sing together. This results in the rest of the stadium not joining in. The high roof makes this worse affects song choice.
This is why we only get good atmospheres when the away fans are quiet, and even then not always. There are thousands of occasional singers around the stadium who would join in with the big chants if they happen.
There’s no one really on social media giving praise to these plans. This stand is not built with rank and file City fans in mind. There’s only a bit of Stockholm syndrome on this site thinking somehow this corporate beast of a club can be persuaded after planning permission has gone in to change their plans !
We still don’t have any pricing !
All of the groups knew in advance it was the only chance.
The club go ahead and plan whatever they want without caring.
Two small sections where fans are expected to sing and everyone else sat down in between- some blue wall that’s going to be !
