Watched some of the TV from gobshite in Malaysia. He truly is an absolute clown and embarrassment to the position he holds.
Any decent thinking, long-standing American diplomat must be inwardly shaking their heads in disbelief.

Right wing crank and Jigsaw look-alike Laura Loomer goes on a racially charged social media rant about a journalist she claims is a national security threat and the journalist is weirdly detained shortly afterwards at an airport, presumably on his way out of the country?

Hmm, I wonder if there's a link???

Perhaps the correlation is that he was going to be detained anyway and Loomer is simply the distraction?

When someone said 'May we live in interesting times', this wasn't what I was hoping for.

It's almost like they're more interested in creating a climate of fear and normalising illegal behaviour by the government than they are fixing the drug problem. Who'd have thunk it.

And, Ronald Reagan, who was considered the Patron Saint of Republicans, wouldn’t recognize, or approve of, the bullshit being thrown around as “Republicanism” today.

The saddest, and scariest, part of what is happening is NOT that Trump is doing this, because we ALL KNEW he wanted to be King/Mafia Don of America, with the levers of power at his fingertips. No, the saddest and scariest part are the HUNDREDS OF ELECTED REPUBLICANS who are kneeling at his feet and allowing his to run roughshod over both the Constitution they swore to uphold and THEIR POWER to legislate and fund the country.

Before Trump was even elected, he scuppered a BI-PARTISAN IMMIGRATION BILL that would have stopped the level of immigration and put strict curbs on numbers. He literally told them that he wanted to run on this issue, so don’t do what’s best for America in trying to solve this problem…leave it to him to use as a bludgeon and his entree into authoritarianism and putting troops on the streets of America so HE CAN CONTROL THE MIDTERMS AND BEYOND!

Republicans in Congress are COWARDS, who have put frilly and submission before the supposed service they signed up for and ran on.

Today, whether a policy is good for their constituents or not, the ONLY THING THAT MATTERS is whether Trump agreed with it or not!

Absolute abdication of responsibility to the citizens who elected them and the Constitution to which they swore an oath.
