Reijnders is just an average player in his prime years. He’ll do okay against the shit teams but that’s it.

Ait-Nouri was never good enough.

We don’t need a new striker to backup Haaland, We need proper wide forwards who can score and play alongside him. Not soft, slow wingers with a nice touch like Savinho and Bobb. In the treble season we had Mahrez and Foden who could score from out wide and Gundogan and De Bruyne who could score from midfield. Now we have a below par Foden and nothing else. It’s a mess.

and what is the required quality then ?

to sign Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Mbappe, Saliba, Rice, Olise, Vini, Hakimi, Mendes ?
 
Greame Bailey is saying that we are interested in Ezri Konsa, he would be decent stop gap option for a few seasons if we don't sign Guehi - HG, fast, good play playing ability, decent defender, can play also as a RB

He's better than the current iteration of Ruben Dias and in his prime years so I wouldn't be opposed
 
we need 2 right backs and at least one left back (still)

We need a box to box midfielder

we need a right winger

Next summer I reckon Bernardo goes....he says he has made his decision yet hasnt said what it is....this usually points to the player going
Stones and Ake should both go for me (or at the very least one of them)

Depending on how the season goes Sav place at the club could be in question - Doku to a lesser extent.

We need some physical players in there...Pep again saying we are poor at defending in midfield as the players there cant (not wont) do it...they are not good physical duels.....

Obviously not going to sign players from the likes of Arsenal, Bayern, Real, Barca now. But not signing the likes of

Olise from Palace
Timber from Ajax
Wirtz from Leverkusen (slow start now but class player)
Kvaratskhelia from Napoli
Zubimendi from Sociedad
Whilst not letting go of Palmer and Alvarez.

Would have us in much better shape than the shite we’ve signed in the last 2 years.

Bernardo and Stones will almost certainly leave next summer, though whether Ake can be moved, with one year left on his contract is less clear.

Even if players such as Echeverri and Nypan 'return' to compete in midfield, they're not exactly physically imposing, and while others will be a year older, they're not suddenly going to be Charles Atlases. Perhaps the rumours about interest in Hjulmand have substance.

Im pretty sure hes taking the piss on that list. But the rebuild is only half done. In the near future we need stones ake Bernardo Kovacic replaced (with quality) And savinho and Doku need to either be coached to score goals and give more output. Or also replaced.. its not as bad as we think but its also a couple seasons away from winning things again unfortunately
 
This squad, when fit, can beat ANYONE, but that doesn’t negate the need to replace players and refresh the squad.

Personally, I think a RB, a CB, a DM/AM and a young CF either coming up or in. That’s 3 “money” buys and a flyer.

The Club is now built such that qualifying for the Champions League is almost a necessity, and I believe the Club will pay almost whatever it takes to build that squad for every season.

Sure, winning the Premier League is every teams starting position, with a handful in with a chance every year. But, to suggest we can always win it is silly, but to be a challenger every season is a requirement that is getting harder to fulfill with the teams below us improving.

So poor Ait-Nouri and Cherki have played like one game each and are now just returning from injury but you’ve decide they are rubbish and not the required quality well spotted in the short space of time my friend

with the money invested i have a feeling Pep will extend he's stay to see through this, we might wait till Kompany is more experienced or someone more outstanding is available

Agree, makes no sense for pep to stay for half a rebuild. Lots more money will be spent too ,surley that excites him.
 
We seem to have a fetish for signing lower cost players who might turn out good in the future.

That's all well and good when you're adding them to a currently great team, but not so much when you're not actually a great team right now.

Sometimes you've got to bite the bullet and pay the premium for the better players.
