The British Monarchy

Getting kicked out of your house and immediately being put in another one, rent free, is not punishment. Having a title removed is not punishment.
Its not where he lives, he was never gonna end up in social housing or under a bridge:-)

His whole life he has been part of the elite and now they will shun him, laugh at him behind his back, he will become a sad lonely figure who has lost the respect of his own family. They are broken.

For a guy who hasn't been convicted of any crime what more could you ask for.

Think on.

Aww poor likkle Andrew will be laughed at. What a shame. This is simply a bit of PR from the ‘royal family’.

Ask yourself why he hasn’t been convicted of any crime? Ask yourself why he hasn’t spoken to the FBI yet, despite being asked to.

You literally read it and didn't understand a word, im not defending him you silly sod or saying he hasn't done wrong, any rich man who cannot be proved to have broken the law remains a rich man. They dont lose anything. So with him public shame is all we have to punish him with.

So this is the best we could have hoped for. Think on.

We won’t think losing a title is much punishment but they, the royals, will. They are brought up with all the nonsense and they believe implicitly that these titles are important. Remember the fuss about Diana losing HRH. Note also the huge array of medals they award themselves and wear at every opportunity. The late queen was reported to be insistent that even members of her own family had to use the correct forms of address when speaking to her. Queenie and Lizzie were not allowed. It had to be Your Majesty and Ma’am, even to her own children apparently.
I’m less formal and my kids get away with calling me Sir.
Mr Windsor, formerly known as Prince will be quietly fuming.

The notion that Andrew isn’t being subject to a form of significant punishment is wrong and actually underlines the binary and simplistic thinking that some people deploy when it comes to the subject of crime and punishment.

His life will have been made hugely worse since that photo was published, worse still when that case was settled, and even worse since the more recent revelations. Someone like him, with his ego and sense of entitlement, thrives on the titles, trappings and fawning that goes with what he sees as his birthright - and those things being taken from him will be utterly devastating to him, as will the impact his actions will have had on his daughters.

Has he suffered enough? Possibly not, but to suggest the the reductions he has been subject to are a mere trifle to him is utterly preposterous. I expect every waking hour will be full of misery for him. He will see a different look in people’s eyes and will absolutely hate it.

He is in fairness, fair play to Charles thats gotta be a tough call on your brother.

From everything that's been written about him the loss of status will be important to him because he was so obsessed with it and the entitlements it brought and I don't mean simply the material stuff. Next time he treats someone like shit on his shoe he might just getsomething back with interest. Though I suspect if avoids or survives any subsequent criminal or civil proceedings he'll be able to hide away from the rest of the world.

Personally I doubt it was that tough a call on Chuck's/Willie's part, seemingly they're not close in a normal family way and he was in danger of bringing the whole gaff down with him.

If we were to go for an apolitical elected head of state then best to do it now whilst Helen Mirren Is still around, vote her in and she could do her QEII thing and it would feel like a gentler transition for anyone who needed it.

Don’t see how either of those things can happen. The civil claim was settled on a full and final basis and the complainant in any criminal proceedings is dead. Unless something else comes out of the woodwork, litigation of the Guiffre issue is surely at an end.

Sorry poorly worded; I meant if any other new things came to light off the back of this episode. I was trying to say despite his reduced circumstances he will be able to insulate himself from the real world unless other things do rear their head.

Yes, he’ll doubtless lead a cloistered life somewhere abroad at the end of this. It will provide a sanctuary of sorts I guess, but it will be a form of imprisonment for him without a doubt.

Would you go to the States and submit to US Law Enforcement?
Pseudo-science 'Lie Detectors'?
Political Prosecutors?
Trump leaning on the Judiciary to 'catch' someone important to deflect from his own guest appearances in the Epstein Files?

I'd suspect Andy Windsor would be a better name to adopt - Mountbatten brings its own baggage - from wiki

Mountbatten admitted: "Edwina and I spent all our married lives getting into other people's beds." He maintained an affair for several years with Yola Letellier, the wife of Henri Letellier, publisher of Le Journal and mayor of Deauville (1925–28). Yola Letellier's life story was the inspiration for Colette's novel Gigi.

After Edwina died in 1960, Mountbatten was involved in relationships with young women, according to his daughter Patricia, his secretary John Barratt, his valet Bill Evans, and William Stadiem, an employee of Madame Claude. He had a long-running affair with American actress Shirley MacLaine, whom he met in the 1960s.
