TV Series

The Sinner - a crime drama airing on Netflix.

The acting and storyline for "The Sinner" is fantastic... but I find the series hard to watch.

The series delves into uncomfortable - for me - sexual encounters - and other disturbing behaviors. In spite of how great this series is in terms of acting and storyline... I frequently put off watching an episode because of how upsetting the narrative is.

8/10 - provided that you can stomach the storyline.

I really enjoyed slow horses S5. I do agree the overall story is probably the weakest so far but its not poor and is compensated by this series being by far the funniest to date. Some genuinely laugh out loud one-liners in this series and Oldham once again killing it everytime he's on screen. Still the best thing on TV by a mile.

Just started watching Dark Winds on Netflix. Done 2 episodes so far. Not the norm so maybe it's the novelty that's part of its attraction

Just finished it last night. Slow start but gets better and more gripping. Great little palette cleanser as a short 6 episode series.

Watched another 2 last night, 3&4. Thought 3 was a bit overly cultural but showed a different side of America that I assume no longer existed

I didn't know this before watching it and then reading up on it, but it is based on a series of novels, which has that as a central theme. So it will naturally form a part of it I guess. Apparently as well, while the overall plot is not based on any true event, some of the stories interwoven into it are based on real events/experiences.

My only real criticism of the series is that I found the editing a bit odd and did not help the flow at times.

Got a bit hacked off with watching all the Neds on youtube, so we migrated to stick and then stumbled across the most ace comedic Irish drama series since our completion of the Derry Girls. How we missed this wee gem is beyond a travesty. Couldn't stop laughing, so we binged our way throughout the full series one (4 series in all).

Young Offenders.

I mentioned before we gave up on Justified... we gave it another go and currently on the last season.

As a huge fan of IT, both the book and the films, i had zero expectations for Welcome to Derry, but after 2 episodes, its actually bloody great.
