I wouldn’t quite go that far but enjoyable enough and promising.

Like most pilot episodes, it was largely about sussing out who’s who and getting a feel for the characters. Even though we obviously know roughly where it’s going.

Looking forward to next week’s episode and the rest of the series though.

And I thought Blue Lights was superior to both of those. Luther, IMO, is probably 1 of the worst series ever. Line of Duty was good for 2 series. After that rubbish

They began filming months ago I believe so hopefully soon
I am having to watch it again cos I've just forgot , there was so much going on

For me, I think I'm pretty good at seeing the strands that run parallel or the core backbone, but didn't here.

Not sure I'm fully answering your question here but I think the show is ultimately about forgiveness, redemption, and the weight of family trauma/obligations. It's mostly tied into the drug/robbery plot but that thread pops up for all the characters imo.

Ruffalo is good in it - but I think Tom Pelphrey (the other lead) was phenomenal and the rest of Ruffalo's crew shines in the back half of the season. Honestly for me Pelphrey's character was worth the watch alone. Ruffalo's arc is somewhat disconnected (not in a bad way, just separate) from the drug/robbery plot line.

I thought it took 2 episodes to come together so if at the end of that you're still not into the series, it's probably not worth continuing on.

Well, thank you.

The only true angle I saw was forgiveness. The rest, as I can see it now, is terribly packed behind bad writing trying seam the plot together, that it becomes a hodge podge of ideas, seeing what sticks to the wall. To my mind, it's plausible the writers and producers thought they had a great idea for an ending and wrote backwards from there!

It's as clear as muddy waters and I spent some time dissecting the show for all the common themes!! For someone who prides himself on being able to see themes good and bad, this one had me really stumped!

Oh well, I guess I'm fallible!! LOL!
 
Finished Task the other night and thought it was good entertainment.
Started on House of Guinness last night and it seems decent so far even if it is a bit, "Peaky Blinders".
 
1st episode of Talamasca: The Secret Order Was good for a Ann Rice show. I’ll carry on watching to see how it develops..
 
I watched Mary Berry cooking and sailing down a river with some bloke on bbc 2 earlier! Very enjoyable! The cottage pie she made looked fabulous! I’m going to have a go at that!
 
Just been watching the Jeffrey Epstein documentary this week and I have to say I really misunderstood just how narcissistic and calculated the whole pyramid scheme was.
 
The Sinner - a crime drama airing on Netflix.

The acting and storyline for "The Sinner" is fantastic... but I find the series hard to watch.

The series delves into uncomfortable - for me - sexual encounters - and other disturbing behaviors. In spite of how great this series is in terms of acting and storyline... I frequently put off watching an episode because of how upsetting the narrative is.

8/10 - provided that you can stomach the storyline.
