He can be the best winger in the world if he just runs more. But I think hes afraid of getting injured.
What? I was also in the ground. Just because you rate him doesn’t mean others aren’t allowed an opinion. Forums would be absolute shite, like your post, if everyone thought the same. You said he can’t finish, I pointed out he can finish by giving the example of the Napoli goal, so what if it’s one fucking goal he can finish, you know fuck all about football, so what if you don’t rate the player, don’t fucking come on here and talk shit about last night when we were also in the ground.
Do I think Doku can improve his game - yes.You think just because he can skin a full back I know nothing about football? We have all scored a worldie at some point in our playing career regardless of the level we played at. His shots generally lack power or placement or, and here’s the most important one, goals. His crosses are hit with hope 10x more often than not. Only at times this season he’s shown real quality and I don’t think he’s done it consistently, he has done it more than any other season with us though and I genuinely hope he keeps it going.
Honestly, if he were for sale, 1) how much would you value him at and 2) based on that valuation which clubs do you think would be in for him?
I don’t dislike him, I just don’t think he’s got it unfortunately.
I disagree about my other post being shocking, but again we’re all here for debate and to share opinions amongst other reasons.Do I think Doku can improve his game - yes.
Do I think he lacks football intelligence, stamina, awareness - No.
Your two questions - I think City would get there money back, if they were to sell him.
With him being only 23 a lot of clubs would be after his signature, I can see a Newcastle would probably be in for him.
This is a better post, your first post was shocking.
What the hell is a deep completion?!! Stats are good but they don’t tell the whole story, to be a world class winger he needs to learn to release the ball earlier more often, work on his off ball positioning and finally work on his finishingHe can be the best winger in the world if he just runs more. he realized his pace has declined for the wing. What I've seen in recent games is concerning. Couldn't get past the Everton, Villareal, Swansea and now Bournemouth fullbacks.
No winger releases the ball earlier more often to the point where theyre great decision makers. Otherwise they wouldn't be wingers. His finishing is fine he just doesn't get into enough chances. And his off ball positioning would improve if he runs more. Then he would have more chances and therefore more goals without needing to be become a Haaland level finisher. What the hell is a deep completion?!! Because he doesn't work on it enough? Instead working on technique, agility, strength etc. Because these are the things he improved on but it cost him his pace. Why would a 23 year old's pace decline without serious injury?
He's got a spinal problem hasn't he?He can be the best winger in the world if he just runs more. But I think hes afraid of getting injured.

Hes stockier and more bulked up. And yes when you work on your technique instead of your speed/endurance, then you become better in your technique and worse in your speed/endurance. Its not exactly rocket science.I've never heard of someone becoming slower because they worked on their technique.
Seems more likely to me he's carrying a small injury.

I think its by design. They're training him to be less of a complete winger and specializing him even further in what hes good at, small bursts in the half space. But not improving his long distance and off ball game will haunt him in the future. I just think its the wrong approach because its really catered for this Pep system and he will not play in Pep's system forever.Do you not think the club would know about such things and take actions to rectify the situation, if at all possible ?
They seem to know a bit about player improvements/treatments .
You can compare him to NFL players or sprinters, or you can compare him to himself a year or two ago, when he was a lot lighter and more energetic.Doku is not carrying anywhere like enough muscle to be slowing him down. Look at any 60m, 100m sprinter of the last 30 years. Look at NFL wide receivers running 60 in 4.2.
You seem to be really clutching at straws to draw a conclusion I'm not sure is actually true, and has a much more obvious cause, a professional footballer carrying a small injury.
